Networks Procurement’s contribution is ever more critical in order to achieve successful deployment of broad range of new technologies to ensure TELUS’ continuously winning of best network awards, to drive Likelihood to Recommend by customers through network reliability and best-in-class customer experience, to stimulate suppliers innovation and to explore and implement new cost models to reduce TELUS networks supply costs to stay ahead of competition. Here’s the impact you’ll make and what we’ll accomplish together

 

As a Category Leader on Networks Procurement team, you’ll have the opportunity to not only apply and hone your expertise but also drive new best practices. You’ll collaborate with and provide consultation to vice presidents on strategic sourcing for multi-hundred-million-dollar spending with global brands. You’ll also influence the next generation of practitioners as you partner with and guide a team of expert Category Managers to develop and execute robust networks category strategies through sound internal and external data intelligence and analysis.

  • Developing and leading the execution of network technology procurement strategies
  • Guiding an expert team providing subject matter category expertise and pro-active opportunity identification to stakeholders across the organisation
  • Driving best in class strategic sourcing that supports profitable growth and an unsurpassed client experience
  • Influencing key strategic decisions through clear storytelling, impactful thought leadership and a consultative approach
  • Spearheading best practices for procurement of new waves of technology and initiating strategies to boost suppliers’ technology innovation
  • Applying expert skills in data analytics, market research, sourcing, relationship and contract management
  • Priming major contract negotiations, strategic sourcing activities, cross functional projects, risk and relationship management, and savings initiatives
  • Optimizing our transformational delivery model to maximise impact for TELUS, including coaching and mentoring of team members

 

 

Qualification

  • Recognized for driving change and innovation
  • Regarded as an exceptional communicator, influencer and negotiator, able to build and maintain effective partnerships internally and externally with all stakeholders, including senior leaders
  • Noted as having strong business and financial acumen and the courage to make difficult decisions and take calculated risks
  • Proven experience in leading supplier negotiations and structuring deals, including establishing contract terms and conditions (i.e. pricing, performance management and SLA development), drafting legal agreements, and implementing risk mitigation best practices
  • Sought out for your ability to collect and analyze data and intelligence into key insights, concept and recommendations
  • With a reputation for project execution excellence and achieving results in a complex environment
  • Demonstration of leadership capability
  • With a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Engineering 

 

Great-to-haves

 

  • Insights of global telecom industry technology and business trends and major players
  • Extensive experience in strategic sourcing for telecom networks or IT category
  • Experience using Procurement technology and SAP at an advanced level
  • MBA or a professional certification(s) from SCMA or CIPS or ISM
