Here’s how you can help: 

 

As Director, Communications, you’ll lead a talented team and drive integrated strategies for People & Culture to enhance engagement , drive innovative internal communication strategies and amplify why TELUS is a great place to work. A curious, collaborative, consultative and creative mindset is key to working with the Executive Vice-president and Chief HR Officer and the P&C leadership team.

 

Reporting to the Vice-president of Communications, you’ll also be an important part of the CC&C leadership team, working together to drive our overall strategy, lead in implementing cutting edge communications and grow our reputation and brand.

Specifically, you will: 

 

  • Develop, evolve and oversee the implementation of best-in-class communications strategies, tactics, messages and metrics that enhance engagement, enable advocacy and attract talent
  • Create thought leadership platforms, strategic narratives and compelling storylines that connect to business objectives and what matters most while resonating at an individual level
  • Build strong relationships, establish trust and proactively advise executives, senior leaders and other stakeholder to drive the success of P&C and TELUS’ strategies and priority programs
  • Oversee our internal communications platforms and tools, with the goal of consistently elevating our internal communications practices to drive engagement for team members around the world
  • Lead a communications team and add value at multiple leadership tables

 

Qualifications

 

You are: 

 

  • A proven leader with the ability to direct, coach and mentor people to be their best selves
  • A proactive strategist who can balance competing interests to drive effective communications 
  • A big picture thinker who anticipates trends/issues and assembles resources to effectively respond
  • A consultant and persuasive communicator who provides superior client service and guidance 
  • A strong program leader who can gain consensus and expertly deliver plans in a complex stakeholder environment
  • A keen observer of the business environment and how it relates to TELUS
  • An innovator who isn’t afraid to explore new ways to achieve objectives
  • Adamant about the link between people, culture and brand 

 

You have: 

 

  • +10 years of communications experience and leadership at a large, complex organization
  • An undergraduate degree and/or postgraduate certificate in a related discipline, and extensive related business experience in a senior communications or marketing communications role
  • Experience in change management and sensitive communications such as M&A and employee training and development
  • Experience working in a global environment
