At TELUS, we’re looking for people who like to innovate every day. As part of the People & Culture team, you should know that we’re not your standard (traditional) Human Resources team. We embrace change and challenge the status quo, and we have fun doing it. We’re just as passionate about our team as we are about our customers and we’re looking for people who radiate this passion.

Here’s what we believe

  • We are ONE team – there’s no room for egos or blame
  • Everything we do is tied to the business – our customers
  • We challenge the status quo – and when others think we’re done, we make it better
  • We live up to our commitments – to ourselves, our friends, family, peers, leaders and our customers
  • Our success is all about how we do things – how we lead and think, proactively solve problems, deliver, communicate, and more!

Here’s the impact you’ll make and what we will accomplish together

In this role, you will be an integral part of the Benefits Team, delivering excellent support and impeccable customer service to over 27,000 internal team members, over 22,000 retirees and other external customers across Canada. Reporting to the Benefits Administration Manager, you will work alongside the larger P&C Operations team to ensure we meet our commitments.

  • Facilitate onboarding of new hires and acquisitions onto benefit plans and transition team members to a new benefits plan due to an employment change.
  • Ensure accurate administration and reconciliation of benefit and insurance premiums, ensuring any adjustments are processed accurately.
  • Monitor shared Benefits mailbox to provide rapid counsel and support team members and leaders for a wide range of benefits and leave-related issues, including escalations and policy interpretation
  • Responsible for leave administration process from team member’s leave request submission to the return to work.
  • Actively participate in benefits projects such as annual enrollment, M&A integrations, collective agreement implementation, and systems user acceptance testing.
  • Ensure all documentation for knowledge sharing is updated for future reference and issue resolution.
  • Conduct regular audits of team member and benefits data to ensure issues, anomalies and trends are identified early.
  • Proactively identify areas of opportunity for automation and process improvements with the team member experience and business performance in mind.
