As the Director, Purchasing and Inventory Management, you will lead a high-performing team focused on inventory availability and optimization. What you’ll do
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of planning and inventory professionals, fostering a high-performance, continuous learning-driven culture
- Develop and execute strategies that optimize inventory levels and purchasing efficiency
- Own the end-to-end purchasing and planning processes for materials, equipment, and service procurement for Infrastructure and Business Solutions
- Build and maintain strong, strategic relationships with internal stakeholders and key external suppliers and vendors, aligning on forecasts, schedules, and strategic objectives while ensuring adherence to — or exceeding — negotiated Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Champion innovation, leveraging new technologies — including generative AI — to enhance operations
- Drive process standardization and simplification to boost agility and performance
- Design resilient, adaptive supply chain systems with a focus on risk mitigation, business continuity, and sustainability
- Establish and monitor KPIs to measure effectiveness, efficiency, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
What you bring
- 10+ years in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing complex, technology-driven supply chain operations
- Demonstrated ability to understand and articulate complex supply chain challenges and develop pragmatic, business-focused solutions
- Proven experience developing and executing strategic supply chain roadmaps aligned with business goals
- Success leading g large-scale change management programs and integrating new technologies in large organizations.
- Strong supplier relationship and strategic sourcing experience focused on value creation
- Data-driven decision-making mindset with experience in business intelligence tools and performance analytics
- Background in sustainable supply chain practices
- Outstanding communication, negotiation, and influencing skills — especially at the executive level
- Recognized as a motivational leader and coach who builds high-performing, engaged teams
Great to Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field
- Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) designation and/or Purchasing Management Association of Canada (PMAC) certification would be an asset
- Bilingual in English and French would be a bonus
