As the Director, Purchasing and Inventory Management, you will lead a high-performing team focused on inventory availability and optimization. You will drive simplification and standardization, transformation and innovation — while building a culture rooted in learning, collaboration and continuous improvement. What you’ll do

 

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of planning and inventory professionals, fostering a high-performance, continuous learning-driven culture
  • Develop and execute strategies that optimize inventory levels and purchasing efficiency
  • Own the end-to-end purchasing and planning processes for materials, equipment, and service procurement for Infrastructure and Business Solutions
  • Build and maintain strong, strategic relationships with internal stakeholders and key external suppliers and vendors, aligning on forecasts, schedules, and strategic objectives while ensuring adherence to — or exceeding — negotiated Service Level Agreements (SLAs) 
  • Champion innovation, leveraging new technologies — including generative AI — to enhance operations
  • Drive process standardization and simplification to boost agility and performance
  • Design resilient, adaptive supply chain systems with a focus on risk mitigation, business continuity, and sustainability
  • Establish and monitor KPIs to measure effectiveness, efficiency, and continuous improvement 

 

 

Qualifications

 

What you bring
 

  • 10+ years in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing complex, technology-driven supply chain operations
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and articulate complex supply chain challenges and develop pragmatic, business-focused solutions
  • Proven experience developing and executing strategic supply chain roadmaps aligned with business goals
  • Success leading g large-scale change management programs and integrating new technologies in large organizations.
  • Strong supplier relationship and strategic sourcing experience focused on value creation
  • Data-driven decision-making mindset with experience in business intelligence tools and performance analytics
  • Background in sustainable supply chain practices 
  • Outstanding communication, negotiation, and influencing skills — especially at the executive level
  • Recognized as a motivational leader and coach who builds high-performing, engaged teams

 

Great to Haves

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field
  • Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) designation and/or Purchasing Management Association of Canada (PMAC) certification would be an asset
  • Bilingual in English and French would be a bonus

 

 

Salary Range:  $114,000-$170,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan:  30%

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience. In addition, TELUS offers rewarding benefits, which may vary per job function, such as:
