As a Manager, Information Services of the SAP ERP technical team, you take ownership of the strategy and program delivery within your area, addressing the needs of customers, stakeholders and the broader CIO (Chief Information Office) team. You will also build and support a highly engaged, performant technical team, act as a coach and mentor in their growth and development and create an environment that fosters technical innovation and quality delivery. You will have the opportunity to build the technical strategy to take us to the next level and through our cloud migration journey to S4/HANA.

What you’ll do

 

Engineering excellence & delivery

 

  • Drive continuous improvement in ERP development processes, ensuring efficiency, quality, and cross-platform scalability
  • Lead the technical management of our SAP S/4HANA modernization program, supporting the Program director to deliver within scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Lead a team of technical resources consisting of Infrastructure architects, ABAP developers, Fiori developers, Data Architects,
  • Collaborate with vendors and review the quality of deliverables
  • Collaborate with TELUS Product groups to support a digital roadmap for the SAP ERP platform as well upstream and downstream systems
  • Partner with various communities of practice (Architecture, Quality Engineering, Platform) to create best-in-class technology strategies. Lead the development and set technical standards for implementation of our S/4HANA program
  • Manage the technical ERP platform for TELUS (ECC) and provide oversight to outsourcing vendor

 

Support a global technical team 

 

  • Mentor and develop ERP and S4/HANA expertise within the team
  • Foster an innovative, technically-focused work environment that encourages experimentation and continuous learning
  • Guide the team's technical focus and remove technical obstacles to maximize value delivery
  • Ensure team members have the necessary technical tools, frameworks, and training

 

Lead with operational excellence 

 

  • Oversee incident reporting, platform performance and reliability
  • Manage technical and platform enhancement initiatives
  • Oversee release management and deployment strategies

What you bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • 10+ years of experience working in progressively challenging roles in technical and ERP environments
  • 5+ years of experience technical leadership roles, with 2+ years of people management
  • Experience with SAP On-premise (ECC), S4/HANA, and new SAP products
  • Proven experience with system transformation and migration
  • Expertise in SAP S/4HANA to drive architectural decisions, system integration, and data migration strategies.
  • Cloud expertise to define and lead the implementation of cloud solutions and infrastructure for SAP S/4HANA.
  • Strong understanding of mobile architecture patterns and best practices
  • Experience managing the full development cycle, from technical requirements to deployment
  • Demonstrated success in leading high-performing teams
  • Strong technical decision-making skills with a focus on scalability, performance and reliability
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an ambiguous environment
  • Strong presentation skills, with proven ability to communicate at an executive level
  • Ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of an organization

 

Great-to-haves

 

  • Certification in SAP S/4HANA and project management (e.g., PMP, Agile, Scrum).
  • Understanding of SAP BTP,  SAP Datasphere, SAP Analytics Cloud, BDC, Steampunk / RAP, Fiori, and other new age SAP products
  • Exposure of working with tools such as WalkMe, EnableNow, and Google GCP BigQuery / Looker Studio
  • Broad design knowledge of networking, security, storage, operating systems, integration and datacenters
  • Broad design knowledge of common enterprise service bus platforms such as SAP BTP, PI, PO, CPI
  • Working knowledge of JIRA and confluence
  • Bilingual in English and French, both written and oral
Salary Range:  $110,000-$166,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan:  20%

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience. In addition, TELUS offers rewarding benefits such as:
