Step into a role that transcends traditional finance. As our Senior Financial Analyst, you'll be the strategic catalyst driving TELUS forward. Dive deep into data, uncover critical insights, and collaborate directly with leadership to shape game-changing Opex and Capex decisions. You'll take ownership of the CSD Profit & Loss (P&L), Capex governance, and key financial metrics across vital portfolios, transforming complex analyses into clear, actionable intelligence for stakeholders.

What You’ll Do

 

  • Be a Trusted Financial Advisor: Build strong partnerships with the CSD&E teams, connecting operational metrics to financial results and influencing key decisions.
  • Collaborate to Drive Performance: Work closely with Business Unit stakeholders to understand, track, and improve technician workforce performance metrics, ensuring actionable insights lead to measurable outcomes.
  • Elevate Reporting Standards: Manage and enhance month-end reporting for VP and General Manager (GM) regions, delivering detailed P&L variance analysis, trend insights, and regional cost-to-serve evaluations.
  • Lead Capital Governance Efforts: Drive the capital governance process by partnering with project owners to monitor progress, address roadblocks, and expedite project execution.
  • Develop Strategic Frameworks: Collaborate with key stakeholders to create and refine cost comparison frameworks across GM regions, enabling more informed decision-making.
  • Support Comprehensive Reporting Cycles: Provide detailed analysis on headcount, materials, and business metrics to enhance the Finance team’s month-end and annual reporting processes.
  • Solve Complex Problems: Lead ad-hoc investigations and deliver tailored analyses and reports to address emerging business challenges and opportunities.

Qualifications

 

  • Working Experience: A minimum of 4-5 years of relevant analytical experience in finance or accounting roles within complex, large scale business environments.
  • Curiosity & Collaboration: A driven, investigative approach to uncover key business drivers, combined with a collaborative mindset that actively engages and influences leadership in decision-making.
  • Financial Expertise: Proven track record in P&L analysis with a meticulous commitment in providing additional insights beyond the numbers.
  • Communication & Presentation Skills: Confident and adept at crafting compelling narratives and leading engaging discussions for executive audiences, both in writing and verbally.
  • Time Management: Exceptionally organized with ability to scope complex tasks, set clear objectives, prioritize multiple activities, and collaborate with others to meet deadlines in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
  • Google Suite Proficiency: Extensive hands-on experience with Google Suite, particularly Google Sheets, with advanced expertise in pivot tables, chart creation, and developing dynamic, complex formulas to optimize workflows and data analysis.
  • Excel Mastery: Advanced experience in creating and managing complex spreadsheets, using advanced functions, data analysis with pivot tables, charting, and automation to streamline processes.

 

Great-to-Haves

 

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, such as operations
  • Proficiency in pulling reports using SAP/BW or other ERP software
  • Familiarity with data analysis from Domo/Power BI dashboards
  • CPA designation or actively pursuing one - key asset
  • Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting



 

Salary Range:  $86,000-$130,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan:  15%

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience. In addition, TELUS offers rewarding benefits, which may vary per job function, such as:
