AIOps for Business team manages Operational Support Systems (OSS) network architecture, solutions, standards and strategies supporting revenue enablement across TELUS Business Solutions for small, medium, commercial and public market segments.This team ensures our OSS network meets the capabilities of our valued customers’ needs now and well into the future.

 

As a Senior Technology Architect, you will drive OSS architecture for Large Complex Deals (LCDs) serving public accounts for the Government of Canada and other provincial governments as well as consolidate our enterprise service management portfolio. You will leverage your extensive OSS experience with performance and event management systems such as IBM SevOne and IBM CP4AIOPS architecting various individual OSS systems into one cohesive solution for TELUS’ and our customer’s needs in service provisioning, activation, monitoring, security, quality of service reporting and other business requirements.
 

What you’ll do

  • Lead the implementation of the OSS solutions in LCD projects
  • Drive the adoption of AI and Automation technologies to increase efficiency
  • Create OSS solution that meets or exceed the requirements on LCD contracts while maintaining alignment to strategic imperatives
  • Deliver OSS architecture and solutions including systems for provisioning, activation, monitoring, and quality of service, performance statistics, and other peripherals
  • Collaborate with LCD account team, business analysts, network and enterprise architects, and program managers to ensure consistent, achievable solutions that are aligned with strategic imperatives
  • Provide strategic leadership for enterprise service management toolset consolidation
  • Develop business cases including the financial benefits, which support the business viability of your OSS architecture solution
  • Develop system and service roadmaps for OSS in collaboration with customer solution architects
  • Conduct proof of concepts for new technologies to meet business demands
  • Evaluate and recommend vendor OSS products and proposals
  • Audit and optimize product/service instances across various systems such as provisioning, assurance and service management
  • Perform feasibility studies and impact assessments for new service requests
  • Provide technical guidance and coaching to a team of technology professionals

What you bring

  • Recognized for your experience within OSS and business operations, especially one or more in the areas of Network Provisioning, Service Fulfillment, Service Assurance, Service Management/Network Surveillance and Performance Management
  • Skilled at translating business requirements, network strategies and architectures into solutions
  • Recognized for your ability to work with Sales to meet customer’s requirements on large service contracts and in custom development of new services
  • Regarded for your full system development life cycle experience and systems consolidation initiatives
  • Distinguished for your communication, facilitation and presentation skills
  • Advanced knowledge of internetworking technologies and multiple network protocols (i.e. ATM,
  • SONET, DWDM, frame relay, IP, Gigabit Ethernet , MPLS/VPN, QoS, Management Protocols, Cloud based Services, Device Backup/Compliance)
  • Hands-on experience with Linux/Windows, virtualization and containerized platforms
  • Adept at balancing priorities effectively while handling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Possesses in-depth understanding of telecom industry trends, technologies, and market offerings
  • Experience in project management and team lead roles
  • 8+  years  of  experience  as  an  architect or a solution consultant in communications  service  provider  or  solution  provider organization
  • Bachelor/Master’s  degree  in  Engineering,  Computing Science,  Software  Engineering,  Information  Systems,  or equivalent

  • Govt of Canada Security Clearance (Level 2 Secret)
  • Knowledge of 5G, Big Data, AI and Automation
  • Industry Certifications in OSS, Cloud and Security Technologies
  • Knowledge of ITSM systems (Incident, Problem and Change management, CMDB, ServiceNow)
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation

 

Salary Range:  $103,000-$155,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan:  15%

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience. In addition, TELUS offers rewarding benefits such as:
