The Business & Partner Enablement DevOps team within the Chief Development Office at TELUS is composed of skilled and passionate team members who relentlessly focus on enabling our business partners to achieve their results. Join our team as a member of the Business Order Entry and Billing team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide support and development for our Billing application and associated services, interfaces, and applications. What you'll do


As a Software Developer, you will play a crucial role in enabling TELUS stakeholders throughout the software development cycle. You will bring your experience and expertise to realize business needs through software projects and operations. You will collaborate with key business stakeholders and internal and external development team members to drive strategic and transformational initiatives. 

 

 

  • Provide production support for the Billing application, associated services, and interfaces
  • Design, develop, and test system solutions and enhancements within the billing environment
  • Establish strong relationships with our business partners and across the Chief Development Office organizations
  • Demonstrate leadership by offering guidance on design and infrastructure, to identify gaps between current and desired end-states to deliver required services
  • Produce technical documentation/deliverables that include Impact Analysis, Design specifications, Technical Requirements definition, test and deployment plans, and other documents
  • Respond to and perform impact analysis on incoming service/support requests, including documenting technical requirements
  • Partner with the business to ensure project/application delivery aligns with the long-term roadmap
  • Proactively identify and communicate potential issues or risks
  • Participate in operational improvement initiatives, in conjunction with other technology teams in the company
  • Perform problem analysis and management
  • Identify potential process improvement areas, suggest options, and recommend solutions.
  • Lead analysis and prepare summary material (i.e. business case) to support decision-making for projects and drive operational effectiveness
     

Qualifications


What you bring

 

 

  • Degree in science, math, engineering, computer science, or related field  
  • Telecommunications experience (wireless and wireline BSS/OSS network & systems) 
  • Proficient in Telecom Billing Systems, Customer Management, AR/AP, Usage processing, and Invoicing 
  • Strong expertise in relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, stored procedures, PLSQL) 
  • Minimum 5 years of full stack software development and operations experience 
  • Proficiency in Java, React.js, Node.js, Unix script, and related tools 
  • Familiarity with Cloud (GCP) and cloud-native technologies 
  • Experience in requirements analysis, problem management, and root cause investigation 
  • Thrives in mission-critical 24x7 environments 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills 
  • Strong project management and multitasking abilities 
  • Relevant industry certifications preferred

 

Great-to-haves

 

 

  • Experience with converting PLSQL to PostgreSQL would be an asset
  • Experience with WebLogic and Tomcat application servers
  • Familiarity with Tableau or other data visualization tools
  • Knowledge of TM Forum Open APIs for agility and interoperability

 

Salary Range:  $82,000-$124,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan:  12%

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience. In addition, TELUS offers rewarding benefits such as:
