Join our team and what we'll accomplish together

We’re the Experience Design team working within TELUS’ Transformation & Product Excellence group. We partner with product, marketing, engineering, and others to deliver products that balance business goals, technical realities, and user needs - helping TELUS create experiences that are consistent, scalable, and put customers first.

At TELUS, content is at the center of how we design world-class digital experiences. As a Staff Content Designer, you’ll step into a rare opportunity: tackling TELUS’ most complex customer challenges while shaping strategies, systems, and standards that define how content drives customer and business impact.

You will guide long-term strategies across multiple portfolios - partnering with product, design, and engineering leaders to shape end-to-end experiences and influence executive priorities to ensure content strategy is embedded in critical business decisions.

You’ll define and scale frameworks, standards, and governance models that raise content and design maturity across TELUS, while serving as a mentor and leader who drives innovation - helping practitioners grow their craft, navigate complexity, and embrace evolving methodologies.

This role places you at the forefront of transformation - accelerating the way TELUS plans, creates, and measures experiences by integrating AI into workflows and evolving how teams design with content. If you’re looking for an opportunity to lead at scale, influence the future of content design, and shape how millions of people connect with TELUS every day, this role is for you.

What you will do

  • Content Leadership: Drive strategy and thought leadership for high-impact initiatives across multiple product domains. Shape long-term approaches that elevate content as a driver of both customer value and business outcomes.
  • User-Centered Content: Apply deep expertise in research, testing, and inclusive design to ensure our content meets accessibility, localization, and SEO standards while anticipating emerging user behaviors.
  • Frameworks & Stakeholder Engagement: Define and evolve enterprise-level frameworks, training, models, and playbooks that guide how content is planned, created, governed, and measured. Partner with senior executives and product leaders to embed these practices into business strategy and secure alignment across the organization.
  • Mentorship & Collaboration: Serve as a mentor and advisor to content practitioners, supporting onboarding, coaching, and professional growth. Build strong relationships across product, design, engineering, and senior leadership to foster collaboration and raise content and design maturity at TELUS.
  • AI-Driven Transformation: Lead the integration of AI into content and design workflows, evolving how teams design and accelerating how TELUS plans, creates, and measures experiences.

What you bring

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field. 7+ years leading large-scale content strategy initiatives in product-driven organizations. A portfolio that demonstrates strategic impact and thought leadership, not just deliverables.
  • Technical & Strategic Expertise: Mastery of content strategy, journey mapping, and content management systems. Adept at data-informed decision-making, information architecture, responsive design, and scaling governance models.
  • Executive Influence & Collaboration: Proven ability to partner with senior executives and cross-functional leaders to shape priorities, secure alignment, and embed content strategy into business decisions. Exceptional communication and facilitation skills.
  • AI & Emerging Tools: Hands-on experience integrating AI and emerging technologies into workflows to improve scalability, quality, and innovation in content practices.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Track record of mentoring and developing content and UX practitioners, shaping communities of practice, and elevating organizational maturity. Skilled at helping others navigate complexity and adopt new methodologies.

Great to have:

  • Change Leadership: Experience driving content transformation in large organizations - advocating for new standards, integrating emerging tools, and helping teams adapt to evolving practices.
  • UX Writing Depth: Expertise in crafting microcopy for complex digital interfaces, with a portfolio that demonstrates clarity, consistency, and impact at scale.
  • Design & Research Integration: Familiarity with design systems, human-centered design principles, and UX research & testing methods, with the ability to translate insights into scalable content solutions.
  • Agile & Product Practices: Experience working in agile product teams and influencing backlog prioritization with product managers and engineers.
  • Accessibility & Inclusive Design: Strong knowledge of WCAG standards, localization, and inclusive design principles - applied in practice across large ecosystems.
