Our Customer Solutions Delivery team is seeking a highly experienced and accomplished Senior Data Scientist to be an integral part in growing the Sales Performance and Culture within our Technician Field teams. In this position, you will be responsible for transforming the data and reporting which powers our insights into sales performance, productivity, quality and channel economics by aggregating transactional and rep level data from disparate sources.  We aim to deliver accurate, consistent, timely and automated data to our stakeholders to drive performance, identify efficiency opportunities and streamline our incentive operations.   You’ll also be brought in to ensure that our data remains resilient in the face of product, system, process and hierarchical changes.

What you’ll do

 

 

  • Lead the end-to-end development and maintenance of data dashboards and projects which enable timely and targeted sales performance, rapid quality management and opportunity identification.
  • Architect and deploy predictive models (e.g., sales forecasting, churn propensity, and demand modeling) and overlay them with real-time operational metrics like Next Available Due Date to drive proactive, data-driven decision-making across the field.
  • Act as a business advocate with our technical teams, ensuring that business needs, pain points and implications are well understood and prioritized accordingly
  • You’ll be continuously consulting and collaborating with product, system, business intelligence and reporting teams to develop improvements to data accuracy, consistency and reliability
  • Continuously drive a roadmap of enablement & improvement initiatives – working with our stakeholders to ensure seamless change management and adoption
  • Actively prioritize and deselect initiatives according to business impact, feasibility and operational readiness.
  • Regularly meeting with stakeholders to debrief on successes/opportunities and take action on key gaps and areas of opportunity identified

 

Qualifications

 

What you bring

 

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Extensive experience with Google Cloud Platform, Oracle, SQL and relational databases
  • Very strong communication skills including presentation, written and verbal communication to executive and senior management stakeholders
  • Sound knowledge and best practices in business intelligence, reporting, customer/market/product analytics
  • Experience establishing and maintaining cross functional relationships (including other BI/MI teams, Finance, etc.)
  • Ability to distill complex information into succinct insights & actionable implications to leadership
  • Ability to analyze data, in order to prioritize and develop transformational programs and influence results / KPI performance
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, ability to multi-task, work under pressure, meet deadlines in a timely manner and data analysis skills
  • Self-motivated and proactive with problem solving skills and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to take ownership and proactively address challenges and issues 

 


Great-to-haves

 

  • University and/or technical school degree and experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of data analytics and reporting
  • 3+ years of enabling and or supporting a consumer sales channel
  • Familiarity or experience with TELUS consumer products and solutions is an asset



 

Salary Range:  $109,000-$202,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan:  20%

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience.
