What you bring:

As a Senior Compensation Consultant – Executive Compensation, you will provide extensive support in the design, management, and administration of executive compensation programs, policies, and procedures for the company’s team members at and above the Vice-President level.

With your consultative approach, strategic focus, and pragmatism, you will offer subject matter expertise to People & Culture (“P&C”) Business Partners and other senior leaders that influence decision-making and enable the achievement of TELUS' goals and objectives.

You are a highly analytical thinker and possess meticulous attention to detail, in addition to expertise in stakeholder management and delivering thoughtful insights derived from complex data.

Here’s the impact you’ll make and what we’ll accomplish together!

This role is involved in carrying out responsibilities related to compensation design, governance, and administration. Working closely with the Manager, Executive Compensation, you will act as a trusted advisor to P&C team members on a diverse set of business challenges where requiring rigorous data analysis.

P&C decision-makers and TELUS’ senior leadership depend on the Compensation team to provide guidance on internal and external market trends, and we help empower leaders to effectively attract, retain, and engage team members in alignment with TELUS’ talent strategy.

Here’s how:

  • Support business objectives by providing analytical support and advice relating to executive compensation to P&C Business Partners and other internal stakeholders
  • Design and execute on annual executive compensation benchmarking activities, making recommendations based on market insights and internal equity considerations
  • Maintain recordkeeping and update inventory of executive employee agreements, change-in-control agreements, and other plan documents relating to executive compensation
  • Support the preparation of materials for quarterly scheduled and ad-hoc People, Culture, & Compensation meetings throughout the year
  • Collaborate cross-function to prepare pay disclosure content for the company’s annual information circular
  • Liaise with external consultants and research public filings as needed to obtain understanding of market trends relating to executive compensation programs and structures
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations and analyses for executive audiences, outlining results, trends, and costings
  • Assist on the delivery of ad-hoc executive compensation projects through various stages, from initial assessment with the business through to implementation

With:

  • Education and experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and at least four years of experience in a compensation role (or P&C role with heavy emphasis on compensation)
  • Business acumen: having robust market awareness of trends in executive compensation and governance
  • Data expertise: aptitude and familiarity with various sources of compensation data, including information circulars, other public filings, and published surveys
