As the Senior Program Manager, you will play a pivotal role in evolving our capital and operational effectiveness. By collaborating with stakeholders and leaders across the Chief Technology Office(CTO) and Network Engineering and Operations (NEO), you’ll identify, assess, prioritize, and measure the performance of capital and operational programs.

 

This position will enhance your planning capabilities, grow your leadership in both program, Capital, and OpEx management, deepen your financial understanding, and expose you to new areas of the business. You will partner with diverse teams, directors, and VPs. Your success will depend on engaging teams thoughtfully, continuously improving our planning approaches, and coaching team members.

 

You will report to the Director of Strategy, Transformation and Enablement as part of the Network Engineering and Operations business unit within the Chief Technology Office striving to make a significant impact across the organization.

 

What you’ll do

 

  • Collaborate closely with leaders and program leads to develop and prioritize monthly, quarterly, and annual project capital and operational plans, articulating business outcomes and benefits
  • Track project, OpEx and CapEx financial performance, providing proactive decision support, and lead budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Lead capital and operational governance and review sessions with operations stakeholders and leadership
  • Engage and coordinate across all levels of the organization to assess issues and risks, problem-solve, drive consensus, and translate ideas into actionable steps
  • Create effective presentation materials for communicating analysis and recommendations to executive-level audiences
  • Engage regularly with stakeholders to ensure programs are tracking to plan, making adjustments to timing, scope, and funding levels as necessary
  • Build, develop, and maintain capital and operational dashboards and performance metrics
  • Leverage key contacts and expertise to continuously refine capital and operational governance processes

 

 

Qualifications

 

What you bring

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related field
  • Experience in managing both capital and operational expenditure (CapEx and OpEx) to maximize return on investment and improve efficiency
  • Program and/or Project Management certification and experience
  • Strong skills in collaborating and negotiating within cross-functional teams and navigating complex organizational dynamics to align goals, change management, and financial planning
  • Expertise in strategic planning and developing business cases with financial acumen to assess the benefits, costs, and risks associated with both capital and operational initiatives
  • Ability to interpret and leverage large data sets to support decision-making, storytelling, and crafting executive-level presentations
  • Adaptability and flexibility in adopting agile methodologies to drive continuous improvement in both capital and operational management processes
  • Demonstrate a “can-do” attitude that fosters a positive and productive working environment, especially under pressure
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently to meet commitment-based deadlines
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office and G Suite tools, including Excel and Google Sheets to analyze data

 

Great-to-haves

 

  • 5-7 years of experience in financial/investment management, project management, or operational excellence
  • Master’s degree in Business, Finance, or Engineering or financial designation like CPA/CFA
  • Experience with SAP/financial reporting systems
  • Familiarity with database programming, automation, or scripting to streamline financial processes
  • Lean Six Sigma certification

 

 

Salary Range:  $94,000-$140,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan:  15%

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience. In addition, TELUS offers rewarding benefits such as:
