As a Senior Program Manager, you'll balance genetic counselling services with program excellence initiatives. Your expertise will shape our Genetics program, driving best practices and innovation in service delivery. This role offers the chance to impact patient care directly while influencing the strategic direction of our genetics services.

What you’ll do

As a senior member of the Genetics team, you will be a key contributor to program success, where you will:

Genetic Counselling Services

  • Provide genetic counselling services in the areas of preventive health and wellness including, but not limited to, hereditary adult onset diseases, pharmacogenomics, and carrier screening
  • Review, triage, and communicate genetic test results, leveraging clinical knowledge in proactive genetic testing
  • Collaborate with TELUS Health clinical staff to enhance understanding of medical genetics, available genetic services, and the implications of test results

Program Leadership & Excellence

Clinical Leadership & Subject Matter Expertise

  • Serve as clinical subject matter expert for the Genetics program, leading the development of best practices and guidelines
  • Mentor the genetics team while providing education and support to TELUS Health clinical staff on medical genetics
  • Manage clinical reviews, patient escalations, and quality assurance processes
  • Collaborate with other business units and represent the clinical perspective in meetings to develop innovative programs and services

Program Innovation & Enhancement

  • Drive operational excellence by developing evidence-based clinical protocols, leading process improvements, and implementing efficiency metrics
  • Harmonize national communications, policies, and training while facilitating dialogue between clinical teams and management
  • Oversee program status, prepare updates, and present process improvements to leadership

Qualifications

What you bring

  • Masters degree in Human Genetics or Genetic Counselling with CBGC and/or ABGC certification
  • 5+ years clinical experience, with project management and operational excellence expertise
  • Strong communication and analytical skills, including ability to interpret and communicate genetic test results
  • Proven leadership in multidisciplinary teams, with experience working alongside physicians and healthcare professionals
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and independent work ethic

Great-to-haves

  • Bilingual proficiency in both English and French is an asset

Advanced knowledge of English is required because you will most of the time interact in English with external parties (clients, suppliers, candidates, external partners, etc.); interact in English with internal parties (colleagues, internal partners, stakeholders, etc.); and work with IT tools whose interface is only accessible in English as part of this position's main responsibilities given its national scope.
