You'll join TELUS' Chief Technology Office (CTO) Business Office team, a newly formed group within CTO that drives strategic alignment and cost optimization across the organization. Our team enables CTO to deliver exceptional customer experiences and drive business transformation at scale. As a Senior Strategy Manager, you'll be the storyteller and strategic enabler, translating complex technical and financial information into compelling narratives for executive leadership including VPs and the Executive Leadership Team. Your work will directly influence how senior leaders understand CTO's strategic direction, financial health, and partnership investments. You'll work alongside a talented team where your ability to think strategically at a 30,000-foot view while diving deep into the details will help balance the team's strengths and drive meaningful business impact across the organization.
What you'll do
- Develop and communicate the annual CTO business unit strategic plan and support the development of 3-year strategy planning sessions, collaborating with peers within CTO and across TELUS business units to ensure alignment
- Partner with VP teams to create and manage strategic scorecards and custom dashboards that track key results and performance metrics
- Build and maintain strategic relationships across TELUS and with external partners to drive alignment, identify opportunities, and connect the dots across the organization
- Support CTO P&L management by analyzing cost models, spend patterns, and business cases to inform financial decision-making for senior leadership
- Translate complex technical and financial information into clear, compelling narratives and presentations for executive audiences at various levels, ensuring the right story is told to the right audience
What you bring
- 5+ years of experience in strategy, planning, financial analysis, or a related analytical role, with a proven track record of delivering results independently and autonomously
- Advanced strategic and analytical thinking skills with the ability to connect ambiguous information to clear, actionable insights
- Ability to shift between big-picture strategic thinking and detailed analysis, moving fluidly between high-level vision and granular data to inform decisions
- Exceptional communication and storytelling skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear narratives tailored to different audiences and leadership levels
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, influence peers, and navigate cross-functional environments confidently
- Proficiency with data analysis and financial modeling tools (Google Sheets, Excel, or similar), with comfort analyzing cost models and P&L statements
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, quickly learn new information, and adapt to evolving priorities
Great-to-haves
- Consulting or professional services background, with experience ramping up quickly in new industries and managing ambiguous, fast-paced environments
- Telecommunications or technology industry experience
- Experience with financial modeling, cost analysis, or CPA designation
Location: Anywhere in Canada
Advanced knowledge of English is required because you will most of the time interact in English with external parties (clients, suppliers, candidates, external partners, etc.); interact in English with internal parties (colleagues, internal partners, stakeholders, etc.); and work with IT tools whose interface is only accessible in English as part of this position's main responsibilities given its national scope. #LI-Remote
