The successful candidate will join the Content Management DevOps team, to play a key role as a developer and provide operational support for applications supporting various middlewares and platforms. In this position you will be challenged to bring an operational mindset to product development, and drive process improvements. Your insight will be critical to driving architecture and design decisions, for continued improvement of our in house developed application. We are a fast-paced job in an evolving environment, so flexibility, strong work ethic and ability to adapt will be the key to your success.


Here's how


  • Play a key role as a developer, to support the continued development of our video provisioning application. 
  • Collaborate with architects, designers, business system analysts, application analysts, operation teams and testing specialists to deliver fully automated Application Lifecycle Management system
  • Deploys, configures, manages, and performs ongoing maintenance of technical infrastructure including all DevOps tooling used by Application Services
  • Assists the development team with the preparation of releases for production. This may include assisting in the automation of performance tests, validation of infrastructure requirements, and guiding the team with respect to system decisions.
  • Provide superior technical consultation to members of Content Management Team as well as other TELUS business units, on complex and critical service troubles to manage the restoration of our application on a 24x7 basis.




You're the missing piece of the puzzle


Required knowledge and experience with the following:


  • Full stack development experience with good object oriented programming experience.  Must have experience with Java stack and JavaScript frameworks.
  • Experience working with both relational and non-relational database management systems.
  • Experience in creating and leveraging APIs thatAPIs, that are both in-house or 3rd party provided.
  • Experience with popular DevOps tools such as Ansible, Puppet or Chef.
  • Hands-on familiarity with testing methodologies and quality control.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical implementations.
  • Able to work within an existing framework and improve it wherever it is required as well as code optimization where applicable.
  • Experience with virtualization, storage and basic networking understanding.
  • Strong Troubleshooting Methodology
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, talented at developing and fostering positive relationships with other team members
  • Bachelors Computer Science or Computer/Electrical Engineering Degree




Additional experience with any of the following will be considered an asset:


  • Experience with cloud-native tools and cloud environments (GCP, AWS, etc.)
  • Advanced virtualization experience with VMware, KVM, Xen, Hyper
  • Intermediate level Windows/Linux admin
  • C/C#, .NET Core, Python, PHP
  • Git, TFS, or equivalent
