TELUS Health Care Centres is looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our dynamic Edmonton team!
Our team and what we’ll accomplish together
You will be responsible for supporting the provision of high quality care services for the TELUS Health Family Health, and Executive, Programs. At TELUS Health, our clinical staff members provide safe, competent and compassionate care across the lifespan and work very closely with the interdisciplinary team to ensure the highest quality of care.
What you’ll do:
- Comprehensive health histories for new TELUS clients
- Blood pressure monitoring, vital signs, and height and weight for clients, including infants and children
- Assist physicians, registered nurses and nurse practitioners with procedures as required
- Inform clients of normal results that have been reviewed and assigned by their most responsible practitioner
- Ongoing wound care, with wound care plan determined in consultation with the registered nurse
- Medication reconciliation and chart reviews
- Diabetic and hypertension management; contacting and arranging tests/follow ups with care team
- Vaccine administration with direction from RNs, NPs and physicians, for routine vaccinations and travel medicine.
- Maintenance of emergency kit. This includes but is not limited to, checking supplies monthly, replenishing expired medications and maintaining oxygen tanks.
- Data entry: home blood pressure averages, vaccine implementation (MedAccess & Netcare/IDSM)
Qualifications
What you bring:
- LPN Diploma from accredited institution
- Active registration with CLPNA
- 2+ years of experience
- CLPNA immunization competency course- strong asset
- Experience with Chronic disease management
- Ability to multitask
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- BLS certification
