Here’s the impact you’ll make and what we’ll accomplish together

 

As the Technical Product Manager, you will be accountable for the team’s mandate to build a new suite of payments capabilities as products for our internal product stakeholders.

 

Fostering a Product-centric approach to build unified payments solutions for all of TELUS’ consumer, partner, channel and internal products. Establish payments solutions that are easily usable by any internal customer, driving industry leading security and privacy while allowing our customer products to provide a seamless and unified experience.

 

Here’s how

 

  • Product Management: Build products using abstraction techniques such as APIs, widgets, accelerators & Software Development Kits (SDK). Lead teams who use Agile program delivery practices and DevOps code release practices
    • Product definition, user and persona definition, customer intent/jobs to be done, etc
    • Setting a product roadmap and product KPI's
    • Measuring the KPIs and analytics to determine product fit and adoption
    • Backlog grooming and prioritization
  • Leadership: Management experience. Ability to Inspire, lead, do things differently, drive change & transformation. Provide vision, strategy and leadership to a highly engaged, high performing team
    • Driving operational excellence in teams
    • Making sure the strategy is well understood and embraced by their teams
    • Execution of their strategy
    • Stakeholder management and prioritization of teams' work
    • Growing teams and developing people and careers
  • Technical Skills
    • Champion and lead the development of the identity solutions as products (API’s, SDK’s, documentation, self serve solutions)
    • Knowledge of the domain: payments processes and vendors, PCI certification, token management, fraud management, reconciliation, billing and subscription management

  • Subject Matter Expertise: The ability to provide knowledge, expertise, and guidance, providing coaching and advice to support the team
  • People Management and Team Building: Extensive experience and demonstrated success as a technical leader, with a proven track record of growing and developing practitioners
  • Delivery Management: Proven success acting as a lead or manager for the agile delivery of software or platform products, coordinating with other streams and stakeholders
  • Leadership & Interpersonal Skills: The ability to champion, coach, motivate, and empathize with team members while partnering and building relationships with TELUS leadership
  • Budget Management & Prioritization: Ability to effectively manage and operate team budgets and prioritize work effectively and efficiently across the team
  • Strategic Thinking & Change Management: Ability to connect the dots between the team and broader organizational context and manage change effectively within the team

 

Great-to-haves

 

  • Experience working in a software development manager role with demonstrated leadership performance, career progression, and understanding of software development
  • Understanding of TELUS’ development practices and key improvement opportunities, challenges, and benefits
  • Understanding of cloud computing
  • Experience with performance measurement of people and developing measurement mechanisms
  • Experience using a range of Agile project/task management software and tools and experience leveraging them to support digital acceleration #Li-Remote
