The Content Support and Implementation team offers a high level of exposure to a diverse range of challenging and rewarding opportunities while working on leading edge technologies. Comprised of passionate specialists with a drive for ongoing success, we are responsible for the development, operational readiness and tier 3/4 support of TELUS’ content collection and provisioning systems. 

As the newest member of our team, you will work alongside this highly collaborative group of team members, as well as several strategic vendor partners. Within this environment, you will not only gain valued experience but contribute directly to the optimization of video content collection and distribution solutions.
 

Here's the impact you'll make and what we'll accomplish together

As a member of the Content Support and Implementation team, you will utilize DevOps principles to evaluate and implement current and new solutions with automation and analytics in mind. Your direct contributions will be to review current process flows and create custom as well as leverage enterprise automation tools to increase productivity. You will also work alongside DevOps primes to collect and analyze data to determine the health of our solutions which will drive service reliability and new solutions development.  This can include the implementation of currently existing solutions or the architecting and software development of a customized solution to fit the needs of the team. The successful candidate will have some experience as a full-stack developer to help accomplish the various business goals.  Your contributions will directly impact our ongoing pursuit to unlock analytic and automation opportunities, while galvanizing collection and provisioning models designed to improve overall service reliability.

 

Here's how

  • Lead the way in identifying opportunities where improvements can be made related to technologies used to collect and distribute video related content and services with automation and analytics as key outcomes
  • Review and deliver solutions based on TELUS standardization and planning teams to ensure all solutions are implemented correctly and have an operational model surrounding it with clear and concise wording 
  • Support the continued development of our network level monitoring and automation methodology and develop the applicable solutions required to provide seamless visibility for multiple services from point of collection to the customer
  • Assist your team in developing proactive measures, processes, practices, and changes to support customer services and to resolve network/content delivery related issues
  • Identify and enhance operational support tools and network monitoring solutions

 

Qualifications


What you bring

  • Experience with Cloud solutions and their implementations
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting
  • Capable of integrating with multiple COTS protocols
  • Experience with secure, resilient and efficient software development in languages such as: .NET Framework, ASP.Net, C#, and Java, Angular or other frontend languages
  • Database management and implementation
  • Ability to architect and design projects tools and process’ with automation in mind
  • Production quality software coding
    • Unit testing
    • Integration testing


Great-to-haves

  • Experience working with video encoding technologies and compression formats used for live and file based video delivery
  • Working knowledge of Internet Protocol television (IPTV) and over the top (OTT) protocols, adaptive and progressive formats
  • Ability to define, review, and implement alarming parameters to ensure ticketing systems can be leveraged for providing notification of potential faults and immediate customer facing issues
  • Experience in planning and coordination of installation of new hardware and software production environments including patches and releases
  • Ability to create and deliver presentations to peer groups, vendor partners, and senior management team members that will influence the evolution of content related solutions and services
  • Bachelor of Engineering, Computer Science or displayed competency in programming languages or similar discipline
