The security architecture team protects TELUS Health's systems and information by setting security strategy, selecting solutions, identifying weaknesses, and integrating new technologies securely and performing risk assessment by analyzing proposed architectural changes and applying the latest security standards.
As part of the Security Architecture team, you are a security professional who thrives on analyzing services, designs and implementations from security perspectives. You will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the field of information security, designing security into processes and technical systems, applications, and standards. This opportunity will allow you to make a difference in protecting the availability, integrity, and confidentiality of TELUS Health services, information, and other assets.
What you’ll do
- Perform security risk analysis, identity and access control standards and modelling, and best practices, allowing you to perform security reviews and analysis on a wide variety of TELUS Health services and product offerings
- Contribute toward system/application security guidelines and policies in collaboration with internal and external TELUS Health teams, helping to ensure TELUS Health systems, applications and data are implemented to the highest security standards and controls
- Provide thought leadership within information security working groups and internal/ external partnerships
- Work closely with other peers at TELUS Health to enhance our identity, system, network and application security posture
- Apply standards and best practice to solve information security problems
- Conduct security reviews, evaluations, and risk assessments
- Evaluate security and controls for new technologies to address such areas as infrastructure, security administration, user identification/authentication, data security, network/host intrusion prevention/detection/monitoring
- Educate and coach peer groups of architects/engineers on how to better design security into their various projects
What you bring
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or Computer Science
- 5 years of experience with 2+ years in security or healthcare security
- Experience with Cloud Computing security best practices (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure)
- In-depth knowledge and expertise in information/network security technology, audit and control measures, monitoring/investigation methodologies and privacy legislations
- Knowledge of major security standards, guidance and frameworks including NIST CSF, ISO/IEC 27000, CIS, OWASP, PCI etc.
- Skilled in project lifecycle/DevOps/SecDevOps and system deployment methodologies
- Eligible to obtain Canadian Government security clearance (or currently in possession of one)

- GCP/AWS/Azure certifications
- Experience of system administration, infrastructure build, and software development in a security- focused environment
