As part of the Chief Information Office, the Enterprise & Payment Systems team delivers software solutions and services focused on customer payment experience for TELUS customers. We create, implement and maintain solutions that drive operational excellence to deliver an exceptional customer experience by enabling team members to perform their role more efficiently and leaders to make the best business decisions. We accomplish this through leadership, ownership, innovative & strategic thinking, and collaboration across many teams.  

 

As a Technical Professional within our Enterprise Payment Systems portfolio, you will have good knowledge of the user and customer experiences as well as a solid understanding of business rules and processes that drive customer value. You will act effectively as the technical speaker to business project teams and be able to represent our DevOps team at all levels within the business stakeholder community. You will be joining a collaborative team responsible for strategic roadmap, design, development and operational support of the Payment Systems portfolio. The team is passionate and proud of developing applications that enable internal and external customers to and also drive continual improvements to workplace processes and automation initiatives.

 

Our industry and technologies are constantly changing, so an essential part of being successful in this role involves being able to adapt and thrive in an environment of change. On any given day, you(SRE) could be tasked with analyzing a new strategy to improve a business and Site Reliability Engineering process or guidelines. You will champion developing training material, creating user requirements, processes, templates or tools, documenting process maps for workflows, or performing cost/benefit analysis. If you have great organizational skills and attention to detail, we’ll be excited to have you join us to tackle some of our biggest opportunities and challenges. Your role will involve leading and managing the implementation process, providing technical expertise, and ensuring successful project delivery.

 

 

What you’ll do

 

  • Demonstrate leadership by offering guidance on design and infrastructure, to identify gaps between current and desired end-states to deliver solutions
  • Define and translate business requirements into functional and technical requirements
  • Provide technical oversight and effective time management for multiple product and service development at a time, including sharing expertise on standards, guidelines, and design patterns for applications and data acquisition based on industry best practices
  • Be responsible for deliverables including functional requirements, detailed designs and change management
  • Proactively bring expertise and creative solutions to improving processes, team effectiveness, digitization avenues, and productivity
  • Initiate, own, and report on projects and operational initiatives
  • Communicate and collaborate with various teams, stakeholders and leaders to support and foster engagement
  • Prepare management and executive level summary reports to support decision making, drive efficiencies and reliability improvements. 

What you bring

 

  • You have a university degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering and/or the equivalent systems experience demonstrated by progressive responsibilities
  • You have 6+ years of relevant IT experience (Functional, Technical, Agile development, Scrum lead, Architecture) in your most recent role within a major industry such as Telecommunications, Finance, or Payments/Billing domain
  • You are highly skilled in planning and time management, with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a rapidly changing Agile environment, maintaining quality with attention to detail
  • You are an expert written and verbal communicator, drive and collaborate resolution
  • You are able to learn quickly from success or failure, apply sound judgement, and get things done all while navigating through change, ambiguity, and high performing environments
  • You have a solid understanding of cloud platform, product development, change management and systems lifecycle, SRE best practices, business case, resource planning, risk assessments, post implementation impact analysis

 

 

Great to haves

 

  • DevOps experience and/or training
  • Experience in Payment systems (including Credit Card) with knowledge of compliance to Privacy, SOX and Payment Card Industry (PCI) regulations
  • Experience in Google Cloud Platform technology, JSON & REST Web services, Data modeling, Telecom industry will be valuable assets
  • ITIL certification and/or training
  • Agile/Scrum Master certification and/or training
     
Salary Range:  $96,000-$144,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan:  15%
