The Acquisition Security Program (ASP) team is looking to add a Senior Security Consultant to our ranks, with experience in a range of security consulting activities. This includes everything from reviewing assessment responses to providing guidance on the best controls to reduce risk. Your skills will help others understand the security requirements that affect them, the importance of compliance and how TELUS can help with this complex endeavor. As a Senior Security Consultant focused on acquisition security, you will have an opportunity to use and further develop your security consulting skills to review and respond to acquisition security program development. Your wide ranging knowledge of security best practices and security technologies will be key to your ability to support the assessment and maturation of our security programs. Additionally, your extensive security knowledge will be used to support process and procedure maintenance activities. 
 
Your ability to develop reciprocal relationships with external partners and internal stakeholders, in concert with your advanced knowledge of governance, risk and compliance will allow you to comfortably engage with and provide feedback to team members across TELUS.

 

What you’ll do

 

  • Responding to RFP queries 
  • Reviewing master service agreements and security requirements for contracts (in support of our sales team)
  • Analyze requirements and provide tailored advice related to industry standards and best practices
  • Create detailed, professional responses to customer and audit queries both in written and verbal formats
  • Assist with pre-purchase of acquisition activities such as reviewing security program maturity and report writing
  • Assess acquisition security program maturity using defined procedures 
  • Provide specific, proactive recommendations for improving existing acquisition security program, processes and procedures
  • Collaborate with other Security Consultants and Subject Matter Experts across TELUS to maintain relevant processes and procedures
  • Manage and further develop scope of reporting of activities into compelling monthly reports and metrics 
  • Develop and execute upon strategic plans to further enhance the acquisition security program
  • Analyze complex problems; develop and deploy conceptual and creative solutions
  • Work on multiple projects concurrently, manage time effectively, and require minimal supervision in the execution of assigned tasks
  • Assist with pre-sales activities such as project scoping and proposal support as required

 

 

Qualifications

 

What you bring

 

  • 5+ years’ experience within the Security/Governance/Legal Industry
  • 4+ years’ experience handling RFP queries, reviewing master service agreements and security requirements for contracts 
  • Expertise at IT risk assessments, information security consulting or IT audits
  • Experience in authoring and presenting technical content in non-technical language 
  • Great with analysis and presenting data to technical & non-technical stakeholders 
  • Ability to explain security controls and the impact of non-compliance to business leaders and stakeholders in a thoughtful, easy to understand way
  • Ability to create and maintain compliance review documentation that meets security requirements while setting realistic expectations and standards

 

Great-to-haves 

 

  • Experience with industry standards such as ISO 27001/2, NIST, COBIT, PCI-DSS, etc
  • Experience developing 1-3 year strategic, tactical and operational plans
  • Bilingual (French and English) - both written and verbal
