We are seeking a skilled and organized Senior Event Manager to join our dynamic team at TELUS Health, specifically to work with the B2B Payors and Providers Business Unit. As our Senior Event Manager, you'll be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a variety of events/conferences, virtual and in-person, from smaller trade events, to large hosted customer events. You'll work closely with internal teams (marketing strategy, digital, brand/design, sales, products, legal), sponsors, and external vendors and conference organisers to ensure seamless event experiences.

 

We're seeking an innovative thinker who can bring creative solutions and unique perspectives to transform our events into exceptional experiences. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing, planning and operationalising large hosted events (virtual and in-person) with multiple vendors.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead the planning and execution of high profile in person, virtual, and hybrid events. 
  • Develop event concepts, themes and experiences tailored to the business needs. 
  • Develop and manage event budgets
  • Coordinate all event logistics (venue selection, catering, IT, A/V equipment, etc.)
  • Technology selection and support for virtual events (registration, event management)
  • Manage vendor relationships and contract and sponsorship negotiations
  • Create and maintain event timelines and project plans
  • Manage event registration, attendee communication and on-site execution
  • Ensure TELUS Health branding standards are met
  • Conduct post-mortems, analyze post-event data and provide complete reporting on the event 
  • Collaborate with the marketing team on event promotion

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business administration or other relevant field
  • 7+ years of experience in event planning and management
  • Excellent time/project management, organizational and multitasking skills. 
  • Adept at anticipating needs
  • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Excellent with budget management
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Fully bilingual (English and French)
  • Entrepreneurial mindset: proactive, results-driven and able to work with minimal direction 
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed, occasional travel required (Canada)

 

Preferred Skills:

 

  • Experience with hosted events
  • Experience with virtual and hybrid events
  • Experience with webinars 
  • Knowledge of marketing and PR principles

Advanced knowledge of English is required, because you will, most of the time, interact in English with external parties (clients, suppliers, candidates, external partners, etc.), interact in English with internal parties (colleagues, internal partners, stakeholders, etc.), as part of this position's main responsibilities, given its national scope.

 

 

Salary Range:  $79,000 - $119,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan:  15%
