As a global leader in health and well-being, encompassing physical, mental, and financial health, TELUS Health improves outcomes for consumers, patients, healthcare professionals, employers, and employees.

The Impact You’ll Make and What We’ll Accomplish Together

We are seeking a Counsel to support multiple business units within TELUS Health across Canada. As a business-oriented commercial lawyer, you will provide practical, solution-oriented legal advice across a diverse portfolio, including virtual care, employer solutions, healthcare centres, and wellness services. Given the national scope of our operations and our bilingual Québec-based client groups, full bilingualism in English and French is essential.

Here’s How

  • Provide daily legal advice to multiple TELUS Health business units on a broad range of commercial, regulatory, and operational matters.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate diverse commercial agreements, including vendor contracts, partnership agreements, service agreements, and RFPs.
  • Advise on health regulatory laws applicable to TELUS Health’s activities across Canada, including specific requirements in Québec.
  • Support new product and service launches by advising on legal risk and structuring.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders by gaining a deep understanding of their business goals and providing proactive advice.
  • Drive process improvements and new approaches to legal practices while effectively managing a high volume of matters.
  • Communicate legal advice clearly and effectively in both official languages to internal clients across the country.
  • Collaborate with the broader TELUS Legal & Regulatory Affairs team and external counsel as required.

You’re the Missing Piece of the Puzzle

  • Experience: Called to the Bar 3 or more years ago.
  • Credentials: Member in good standing with the Barreau du Québec or another Canadian Law Society, with eligibility to practice in Québec.
  • Bilingualism: Fully bilingual in English and French (written and spoken) is a mandatory requirement.
  • Expertise: Proven track record in structuring, drafting, and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
  • Soft Skills: Respected for your business acumen, initiative, creativity, and collaborative mindset.
  • Communication: Confident in engaging with sophisticated stakeholders and translating complex legal concepts into practical advice.
  • Execution: Recognized for managing multiple concurrent priorities and delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
