The Commercial Business Security (CBS) team at TELUS is dedicated to providing comprehensive security solutions to protect our clients' physical assets. Our services include surveillance systems, access control, video, intrusion and integrated security solutions tailored to meet the unique needs of various industries. Migrating customers from legacy environments to the cloud is our goal while helping customers achieve their business outcomes. Our team is focused on securing Intelligent Spaces and making building smarter.
The Sales Specialist II for CBS will play a crucial role in driving sales growth by enhancing customer relationships and evangelizing physical security across our sales channel. This position requires a strong ability to build internal relationships. This individual can build and execute a strategy to grow the portfolio and has a proven track record in sales and a background in Physical Security. Experience in Building Automation Systems is a bonus!
Here's how
- Act as a Subject matter expert in Security and support approx 20 sales reps as an overlay Security Specialist. Support the sales team to drive profitable revenue consistent with TELUS' capabilities and corporate strategy
- Understands ICT technology and industry trends in business, competition, market and economy; creates relationships across businesses and management & externally with key partners and vendors; challenges Status Quo internally and externally - ability to understand current state to transform or modernize the customer’s technical environment; thirst for technical knowledge
- Solution Platforms and Offerings: Portfolio and key business offerings expert that enable a customer's business transformation; confidently communicate value proposition and act as an industry leader in Security
- Strategy and Planning: Partner with Account primes to use embedded territory, account and call planning tools in Salesforce.com to create targeted plans with clearly defined smart goals and specific milestones; ensures appropriate balance of prospecting, qualification and closing activity including adherence to PSO sales methodology (for example: red team review, win probability models)
- Purposeful Execution: Effectively negotiates contract commitments internally and externally using influence and persuasion techniques to increase portfolio yield, achieve better margins and more trusted customer relationships
- Engaging the Customer: Genuine and authentic customer advocate, who takes accountability and manages customer expectations; communicates with customer using business case principles (time, money and human capital ROI); ability to lead workshops with customers as they explore gaps in their business and translate customer needs into TELUS offering opportunity; identify requirements, business needs and value; ability to whiteboard, quantify value (business & financial acumen)
- Active involvement in the execution of the Technical road maps and Technical account plans with a focus on growing the Security footprint with the customer
- Prepare and present sales presentations to deliver on Business Outcomes for your customers

- Cybersecurity Awareness: Knowledge of network security principles and the convergence with Physical Security
Experience That Sets You Apart:
- 5+ years of proven sales expertise: In the IT/Security industry or related sectors
- Track record of engaging with C-suite stakeholders: Driving impactful outcomes
- Understand the IT/Telecommunications competitive landscape across Canada
- Professional Sales certifications: Or equivalent designations showcasing your expertise
- University degree or equivalent senior-level experience: Demonstrating your commitment to excellence
