What You'll Do
The Psychometrist is accountable and responsible for all areas related to psychometric testing, under the supervising of clinical psychologist and clinical neuropsychologist. The major areas of the role are:
- Confidentially and properly administer, score, and interpret intelligence, aptitude, achievement, and other psychological and/or neuropsychological test batteries to adult or paediatric population;
- Provide a written summary of the client’s behavior during testing, including any interactions with the patient and/or their parents that may be observed incidentally;
- Evaluate cognitive, academic, neuropsychological, behavioural, and emotional status;
- Discuss progress of clients with other health professionals as appropriate; keep neuropsychologist/psychologist informed of their status;
- Maintain high standards of ethics and confidentiality to handle sensitive information;
- Collect demographic information from a patient.
- Can be accountable for various clerical or administrative duties that include but are not limited to: patient scheduling, billing and coding of procedures, and procurement of office and testing supplies.
- Expected to adhere to THCC processes and procedures for confidentiality, billing, accounting, documentation, scheduling, and use of the electronic medical record.
Qualifications
What you bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or similar program from an accredited university program required;
- Experience in administering and scoring cognitive tests and standardized questionnaires required;
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical work experience.
- Must be fluent in both French and English.
- Ability to maintain excellent interpersonal relationships with patients, multidisciplinary team members, trainees, and referral sources required;
- Experience and knowledge necessary to deliver cognitive training and cognitive rehabilitation programs, or potential to learn to administer these preferred;
- Basic computer and software skills required.
Work Conditions / Physical Requirements
- You will be required to work in a multi-disciplinary clinical setting. Typically you would work office hours however; some flexibility may be required to accommodate service requirements for the operation.
- You will be working in an office environment, which may require extended periods of time completing computer related work. You will work an eight hour day with an additional minimum of half hour for lunch.
