FOCUS by TELUS is looking for a telematic expert for solution integration and/or development, responsible for achieving the best possible results on complex quotes and contributing to the writing of requests for proposal responses or other bid formats. As required, partner with our sales team to plan, prepare and execute on strategic deals throughout the sales cycles and act as a welcomed technical advisor to the customer.
Help us develop new business opportunities in Canada and the USA in targeted industries and maintain our competitive edge with current customers. We are looking for an experienced Technical Sales Architect in telematics solutions for the public works, winter maintenance and waste & recycling, ideal, but not exclusively. You’ll work within our sales team to identify business challenges, obtain market intelligence and information pertaining to client and industry requirements.
Under the Sales Director supervision, you will collaborate with various stakeholders such as the management team, technical service team, IT team and partners to better manage customer expectations, deliverables and ensure accountability.
Responsibilities
- Represent TELUS interests in evaluating solutions and winning bid strategies
- Maintain and develop at all times a customer service attitude by establishing positive and professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders, providing quality service, assistance, information and advice to ensure their satisfaction
- Collect, assess and analyze data from the client’s current state, and quantify the ROI to the business by implementing FOCUS solution
- Responsible for analyzing customer requirements and aligning agreements internally according to the approval process, specifically in relation to the delivery and operations teams
- Provide strong team contributions (technical knowledge, industry knowledge, training, etc.) and work with IT and RFP Team and product specialists where required to address customer requirements
- Define critical milestones, winning scenarios and timelines with key stakeholders, manage Proof of Concept from the initial kickoff, deployment, throughout the installation, software commissioning and training and lead the customer evaluation process highlighting each successful milestone's positive outcome towards the completion of the project
- Systematically reassess our ways of doing things in order to optimize the evaluations of our results in terms of costs, quality and deadlines in order to design competitive solutions while meeting the needs of the current market
- Identification of key competitors and the development of competitive management strategies, provide feedback to the management on market trends, competitive threats, unmet needs and opportunities to deliver value to customers
- Communicate with the product development team for product updates or new product opportunities
Qualifications

- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Leadership and excellent organizational and planning skills that allow you to manage multiple projects
- Project management, leadership, collaborative, problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to support the recommendation of a course of action during complex negotiations, to document business solutions, based on assumptions and risk assessment and to present cost analysis to management and internal stakeholders through written and oral communication
- Minimum 4+ years customer-facing pre-sales experience
- Post-secondary degree/certification in computer science, software engineering, geomatics, business or an equivalent combination of education and experience (5 - 7 years)
- University degree or 3+ years of equivalent experience
- 3+ years of successful experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar role
- 2+ years of project management experience
- Experience with Enterprise sales cycles or equivalent
- Previous hands-on experience with customer evaluations and deployments
- Understand multiple levels of the technology stack
- Technical savviness
