Kinesiologists play a key role in our team environment. With the goal of empowering every person to live their healthiest life, Kinesiologists consult, assess, and follow-up clients with the goal of engaging in lifelong activity. The Kinesiologist will provide exemplary care and service to our clients in accordance with practice standards. The Kinesiologist will liaise with other clinic staff, physicians, and administrators to ensure safe and effective delivery of our services.


What you’ll do:

 

  • Consult clients about medical, movement, and musculoskeletal histories
  • Engage clients in motivational interviewing and behaviour change coaching
  • Provide clients with advice and recommendations according their health assessments.
  • Perform physical assessments (maximal exercise testing, movement assessments, body composition, etc.)
  • Conduct ECG and stress tests including setting up electrodes/wires, blood pressure monitoring
  • Monitor patient safety throughout testing, including initiating emergency response when required
  • Discuss professionally with medical personnel regarding test results
  • Provide personalized recommendations to clients
  • Interact with clients beyond the assessment for health and well-being optimization
  • Collaborate with physiotherapists, physicians, nurses, dietitians, lab technicians, and other allied health staff to optimize client health and well-being

 

 

Qualifications

 

What you bring:

 

  • Completed Bachelor’s degree in Human Kinetics or Kinesiology and 1-2 years of relevant experience in a clinical setting
  • CSEP or ACSM Exercise Physiologist certifications complete or in-process
  • Master’s degree considered an asset
  • Current CPR Certificate
  • Excellent command of the English language, both verbal and written
  • Ability to prioritize and make decisions affecting client care
  • Ability to work independently, with minimum supervision, while delivering highest level of client care
  • Experience and interest in preventative health and education with desire for growth
  • Flexible and able to work effectively in a team environment
  • Work well under pressure and demonstrates a sense of urgency in completing time sensitive tasks
  • Experience with electronic health charting considered an asset
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint)
