The team you will lead are experts in collaboration solutions, cloud voice, contact centers, SD-WAN, LAN, Wi-Fi and Network Security. 
 

Position Overview

 

As the National Director of Technical Sales, you will be responsible for overseeing our pre-sales strategy for crucial and expanding portfolios across multiple solutions. In our vibrant and fast-paced B2B setting, you will lead a team of Managers nationally, who in turn will empower a high-achieving group of over +50 team members, including Sales Specialists and Specialty Customer Solution Architects
You will guide the managers of our National pre-sales team, which assists Commercial account sales executives across the country. The primary areas of focus include:

  • Managing the Mid-market, Public sector and Enterprise-wide aspects, ensuring competitive and distinctive strategies that will nurture and advance TELUS' multiple solution portfolios
  • Facilitating a strong connection between sales and product marketing by identifying gaps in solutions and go-to-market strategies
  • Providing business projections, encompassing management of the sales pipeline, sales forecasts, and operational budgets

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Envision, devise, and implement a market-leading business plan that fully supports growth and overachievement of the business' goals, objectives, and financial targets by utilizing TELUS prescribed methodologies and tools
  • Overall accountability for building a market-leading Technical Sales Team via world-class talent management, coaching, and inspirational leadership, leveraging the TELUS Sales Academy & Premier Sales Organization
  • Provide accurate, relevant, and timely management information on performance metrics for the business to facilitate effective business planning, forecasting, and resource allocation
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and retention by leading the team to drive real and long-standing relationships that lead to innovative outcomes for customers
  • Maintain and develop key alliances with strategic partners and enabling organizations
  • Act as a strong ambassador for the TELUS organization and uphold the values and behaviors of a senior leader in the business and throughout the extended community

 

Required Knowledge and Skills

 

  • Technology savvy: Broad expertise across multiple solutions (Call Centers, Unified Communications, LAN and WiFi, SD-WAN, Cybersecurity) with a proven track record in leading teams successful in selling complex and large infrastructure, programs, and advisory services
  • Effective Leader: Demonstrated leadership skills with thorough experience in building and developing high-performance teams within large complex organizations
  • Business Manager: Extensive knowledge of the B2B sales environment and strong decision-making abilities
  • Strategic Planner: Ability to lead strategies, projects, or programs to success, invoking a deep understanding of industry-specific solutions to create unique business value
  • Sales Driver: Detailed understanding of the sales process and a proven track record of achieving sustainable, predictable, and profitable business results

 

 

Qualifications

 

Required Experience and Qualifications

 

  • University degree or equivalent experience at a senior level
  • 10+ years of successful sales experience in IT/telecommunications industry
  • 7+ years of experience leading high-performance technical sales teams
  • Developed C-suite relationships
  • Proven experience presenting to C-suite customer stakeholders and internal C-suite
  • Professional Sales certification(s) is a strong asset 
  • Advanced knowledge of English is required because you will most of the time  as part of this position's main responsibilities given its national scope. Knowledge of French is an asset.

Salary Range:  $137,000-$205,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan:  $80,000-120,000

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience. In addition, TELUS offers rewarding benefits such as:
