Our team and what we’ll accomplish together
The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) will provide exemplary care to our executive health clients in accordance with practice standards. The RPN will liaise with other clinic staff, physicians, and administrators to ensure safe and effective delivery of our services.
What you’ll do
- Administers and explains various tests including but not limited to (vitals, vision, spirometry, audiometric, urinalysis, drug screening, Cardiac Stress Testing)
- Performs nurse duties in relation to Preventative Health Assessments, Occupational Health Protocols
- Performs vision, spirometry, audio testing and other small tests
- Monitors patient safety throughout the test, including using defibrillator if required
- Performs venipuncture as per protocols - blood draw from requisitions
- Perform some Virtual follow up coaching calls for some clients
- Administers vaccines as required per protocols or patient need
- Confers professionally with medical personnel regarding abnormalities and results
- Occasional triage for consultation appointments
- Supports physicians as required
- Communicates with patients by telephone and e-mail as needed
- Take ownership of patient files; verification, monitoring and filing of various medical results
- Performs medical procedures in accordance with regulatory body guidelines
- Track and order medical inventory as needed
- Other administrative duties as required
Qualifications
What you have:
- Completed a Practical nursing diploma
- Registered with the college of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Current CPR certification level (C) is mandatory
- Minimum of six (6) months of post-graduate practical experience - phlebotomy, resting ECGs experience are required
- Venipuncture and vaccination experience is necessary
- Travel vaccine experience an asset
- Being able to speak french, an asset
