As a Security Consultant on the Managed Services team, you will manage various network security solutions such as Firewalls, VPN, IPS, Content Filtering and-or NAC for TELUS Security's external customers (all markets). You will work directly with customers, meeting the needs of their growing network infrastructure while ensuring they have a safe and secure environment. While working as a Security Consultant, you will be collaborating very closely with your peers and with your extended team (i.e. designers & developers of our Security Services, managed services teams and SOC analysts). This position will provide extensive experience with managing complex network solutions and ample opportunity to branch out in the cybersecurity industry.

 

What you’ll do

 

  • Working as an extension of the customer’s networking team, you will manage a suite of Fortinet security products within small, medium and-or large organizations
  • Provide advice, guidance, and direction by developing repeatable work methods, standards for firewall solutions
  • Participate in security incident triage, investigation and analyses; provide support for front-line analysts to understand and analyze network logs for suspicious and anomalous behavior
  • Work hand in hand with managed service teams and SOC analysts to support a solid Customer Experience, for Managed Security Services projects
  • Supporting and guiding junior security consultants through network and firewall troubleshooting
  • Make timely and logical decisions by analyzing diverse information streams, evaluating options and formulating recommendations in order to resolve network challenges

 

 

Qualifications

 

What you bring

 

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Security Solutions including technical knowledge of engineering, computer and network security, security protocols
  • Direct experience with managing Fortinet, Palo Alto, Checkpoint or any other NGFW administration and reporting experience required
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Advanced foundation in networking architecture and protocols based on the OSI model from layer 1 to 7
  • Expertise in TCP/UDP/IP protocols, their function and design
  • Availability for evening, overnight and weekend work as required

 

Great-to-haves

 

  • Bilingual English & French
  • Certifications - Fortinet (NSE6,7,8), CISSP, SANS/GIAC, SABSA, Azure, AWS, GCP, network security vendor certifications (Cisco, Palo Alto Networks)
  • Experience in network and application-level security testing/review

 

 

Salary Range:  $70,000-$120,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan:  12%

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience.
