Status: Permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week) 
Schedule: Monday to Friday (operational needs between 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)


Our team and what we will accomplish together


In a GMF, the licensed practical nurse works within an interprofessional team and acts based on individual verbal or written medical orders or according to established protocols. They record their observations and interventions in the electronic medical record (EMR). Upon starting the position, the licensed practical nurse agrees with the physician on an optimal organization of their work.


Here’s how

 

  • Welcome the person, perform a preliminary observation, and if necessary, prepare the person for examination.
  • Collect data: reason for the consultation, current condition of the person, family, medical, surgical history, medications, allergies, lifestyle habits, etc.
  • Take vital signs of an adult or child (blood pressure, pulse, respiration, saturation, temperature).
  • Perform a urine test using a reagent strip or a throat culture.
  • Administer the Snellen visual acuity test.
  • Irrigate an ear (ear washing).
  • Administer a mental status test (MoCA or Folstein) and gather data on changes in functional autonomy.

  • A DEP in Health, Assistance, and Nursing Care.
  • Active membership in the OIIAQ.
  • Up-to-date CPR certification.
  • Interest in customer service and a corporate work environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Sense of responsibility and organization.
  • Diligence, autonomy, punctuality, professionalism, interpersonal skills.

 

Great-to-haves:

 

  • Spoken and written bilingualism.
  • One year of experience is desirable.
Salary Range:  $23-$44
