Our team develops and executes on TELUS’ corporate Reconciliation commitments and action plan in collaboration with business units across TELUS. Part of the National Network Planning team, we deliver on a world-class customer experience by expanding our advanced broadband network infrastructure directly to homes and businesses in Indigenous communities across British Columbia and Alberta.

With a passion for supporting Reconciliation, you'll lead engagement with Indigenous communities and leaders across Northern British Columbia, collaborating with TELUS business units to build respectful relationships that align with our Reconciliation commitments and customers-first promise. What you'll do
- Build and maintain open, honest, and respectful long-term relationships with Indigenous communities and leaders in British Columbia by navigating sensitive relationships with nuance and respect, balancing community-first values with business realities, and creating predictable and positive experiences for the community and TELUS
- Known for your curious mind, and approach to problem solving, you’ll continually challenge the status quo by experimenting with new approaches for how TELUS can support connectivity in Indigenous communities.
- Solidify yourself internally as the trusted face of engagement with Indigenous communities in British Columbia, and a known, collaborative, creative, problem-solver
- Lead and partner with cross functional TELUS teams to support success of connectivity projects, including coordinating with external vendors, network planning, engineering and construction teams
- Develop communication materials, tools and templates to ensure powerful communication
- Balance numerous priorities while adapting and anticipating changes
- Create project plans and apply project management methodology to programs and initiatives, including leveraging systems and tools (i.e. Google, Microsoft, survey tools, data analysis tools) to support build execution and RGU generation
What you bring
- Knowledge and appreciation of the unique history, cultures, and rights of Indigenous Peoples in Canada, with demonstrated passion for supporting Reconciliation
- A proven track record of building successful, respectful relationships with Indigenous governments and communities
- Strong project management skills with a demonstrated history of consistently delivering results and meeting program milestones
- Curiosity paired with resilience, the ability to ask insightful questions, and adapt your approach as circumstances change
- Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate across complex organizational structures, bringing diverse groups together to achieve shared goals
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, with experience reporting to executive and external audiences
- Willingness to travel regularly to Indigenous communities throughout Northern BC (100 Mile House and further north), with monthly visits and occasional overnight stays
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent education and/or professional experience
Great-to-haves
- 5 or more years of experience engaging with Indigenous communities in British Columbia
- Understanding of TELUS products, services, and telecommunications network infrastructure
- Proficiency with Google Suite (Slides, Docs, Drive, Hangouts, etc.)
