As the Manager of Operations for the Network Engineering and Operations team you will be responsible for implementation and deployment of new technologies, ongoing maintenance and support, troubleshooting and problem resolution, and collaborating with other departments to improve service delivery. NEO plays a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the network's operational efficiency and service quality. TELUS is able to deliver reliable telecommunications solutions for our customers and ensure 7x24 availability.
You will lead a multidisciplined operational team that includes Inside and Outside Plant, Network Operations, RF Operations, and Power Operations.
What you’ll do
- Establish team standards, guidelines, and best practices to ensure consistent and effective operational execution
- Provide leadership, guidance, mentoring and support to the operational team
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define program objectives, scope, deliverables, and timelines
- Monitor and track program progress, identify risks, issues, and dependencies, and implement mitigation strategies as needed
- Conduct quarterly audits of services provided by key partner
- Prepare and present regular program status reports to executive leadership and stakeholders, highlighting key milestones, achievements, and challenges
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team
- Promote operational best practices and provide training, coaching and mentoring to team members
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging property management practices, and incorporate relevant advancements into the organization's operational management framework
- Collaboration with internal audit and insurance teams
- Some travel required to perform property audits and project acceptance
Qualifications
What you bring
- Proven track record in providing leadership for mission critical power and environment solutions network
- Proven ability to collaborate and influence senior leadership and stakeholders
- Effective communications, both written and oral
- Effective leadership, coaching and motivational skills
- Strong customer orientation and ability to handle both favorable and unfavorable customer interactions professionally
- Ability to plan and organize effectively to independently meet schedules and deadlines
- Ability to adhere to all safety training to ensure compliance
- Strong customer focus and commitment to service excellence
- Demonstrated ability to identify problems and situations, take appropriate action, lead solutions
- Minimum 10 years experience within Telecom Operations, Planning or Engineering
- Demonstrated experience leading an operational team, Service Providers
- Experience managing under a collective agreement
- University Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology or equivalent related Technical Diploma
