Description
We are seeking a Technical Sales Specialist - Network & Security to support our Account Executive team across the province of Quebec, focusing on identifying and developing network solution opportunities in partnership with Account Executives serving enterprise customers and public sector organizations across key verticals including Retail, Professional Services, Transport & Logistics, Restaurants, Public Sector, Banking, and Insurance. This technical overlay role requires substantial networking and network security expertise to help build a robust funnel of TELUS Network Services and security opportunities, enabling Account Executives to effectively position and advance network modernization solutions with customers in your target industries.
Key Responsibilities
Funnel Building & Opportunity Development

Identify network and security opportunities with Account Executives through technical discovery sessions

Qualify opportunities and assess technical fit of solutions

Build and maintain an opportunity portfolio across Quebec territory

Track opportunity and funnel progression
Technical Expertise & Enablement

Serve as the technical subject matter expert on network solutions for the AccountExecutive team

Provide technical guidance on SD-WAN (Meraki, Fortinet, VeloCloud), managed LAN/WiFi, and security solutions

Help Account Executives understand customer technical requirements and pain points

Educate Account Executives on network solution capabilities, use cases and competitive positioning

Translate complex technical requirements into solution recommendations
Collaborative Selling Support

Assist Account Executives in customer meetings to identify network opportunities

Lead technical discovery conversations, assess customer network environments

Help position network solutions within broader customer technology initiatives

Identify triggers and buying signals for network modernization projects

Support Account Executives in developing business cases for network solutions
Stakeholder Engagement

Engage with customer IT teams and technical stakeholders during discovery phase

Participate in customer-facing presentations with technical expertise

Facilitate connections between Account Executives and Customer Solutions Architects for qualified opportunities, coordinate with Sales Support Managers for technical validation and scoping, and leverage internal resources to support opportunity development

Support Account Executives across the entire Quebec territory while maintaining awareness of market dynamics, customer trends, and building relationships with the Quebec-based team
Qualifications
- 10+ years of B2B technology sales experience, preferably in networking, telecommunications and managed services
- Proven experience in a sales overlay, specialist, or technical sales support role
- Track record of successful collaboration with Account Executives or sales teams
- Experience identifying and qualifying technical opportunities
- Familiarity with mid-market, enterprise, and public sector sales environments
- Mandatory bilingual (French/English) required to support Quebec customers and Account Executives
Technical Knowledge - CRITICAL REQUIREMENT
- Networking Fundamentals: Strong hands-on understanding of SD-WAN architectures, LAN/WAN design, routing/switching protocols, and enterprise WiFi deployments
- Network Security: Deep familiarity with firewalls (UTM, NGFW), SASE frameworks, VPN technologies, and security compliance requirements
- Vendor Platforms: Working knowledge of Cisco Meraki, Fortinet SD-WAN/security, and Broadcom VeloCloud solutions
- Connectivity & Architecture: Understanding of connectivity options (fiber, wireless failover, satellite, MPLS) and hybrid cloud network architectures
- Technical Communication: Ability to read network diagrams, engage credibly with IT professionals, and translate technical capabilities into business outcomes
Preferred Qualifications & Industry certifications :
- Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP, or Meraki certifications)
- Fortinet NSE certifications
- VMware VeloCloud certifications
- Security certifications (CISSP, Security+, or equivalent)
- Previous experience as a network engineer, systems engineer, or technical architect
- Familiarity with TELUS products and services,
- Understanding of Sales Force and ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms
