Our mission
The Technical Sales –Senior IOT Solutions Architect plays a key role in providing TELUS’ 5G and LTE network-based IT solutions sales support. In addition to technical mastery, the ideal candidate must have good sales and business acumen. Working directly with TELUS customers, the candidate will analyze customers’ business and technical requirements to find solutions that meet their operational needs.
We aim for excellence in design to offer integrated solutions comprising various technologies, and work with a large team of experts from different fields.
Your responsibilities
- Ensure the integrity of customer solutions and work closely with all levels of IT Operations, Product Marketing, Sales and Project Management to make sure that the proposed solutions are feasible and sustainable.
- Respond to RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, etc., prepare solution diagrams, technical descriptions, and presentation materials for prospective customers.
- Translate complex technical information into compelling and easy-to-understand business propositions.
- Work with the sales and accounts teams to integrate the proposed solutions into the customers’ overall IT environment and strategy.
- Take responsibility for the architecture, design and customer specifications of TELUS’ 5G and LTE network-based solutions.
- Remain responsible for the solution until it has been made operational in the transition project, and ensure an efficient transfer of responsibility to the Implementation and Project Management Offices.
- Stay up-to-date on new developments in the industry by attending fairs and conferences, and engaging in forum discussions. Compare TELUS products and services with those offered by the competition.
- Deliver presentations to TELUS internal audiences as well as customers.

- Architecture and operation of wireless networks (3G, 4G, 5G)
- WCDMA, HSUPA, HSPA, HSPA+, DC-HSPA, LTE, LTEM, LTE-A, CA, MIMO/MMIMO, P-GW, S-GW, MME, HSS, HLR, E-UTRAN, eNodeB, PDN, UE, USIM, QCi, AC, 5Qi, eSIM SMSC, Network Slicing, 5GNR. MEC, MCPTx, PICO Cell, SmallCell, Lampsite, MacroCell, eMMB, uRLLC, mMTC. LTE category (CATx, CATM1, NB-IoT)
- Entreprise Mobility Management (EMM) such as MobileIron, SOTI, VMWare WorkspaceOne, BlackBerry UEM Dynamic, KNOX MDM and Managed Engine
- Advanced knowledge of wireless network platforms: iOS, Android OS, KNOX KME, Apple Business Manager, VPP
- Rugged Android devices and their specifications (IS, IP, MIL)
- Wireless modules/Modems/Routers such as DIGI, CradlePoint, SierraWireless, Cypress, MicroHard, CISCO, Meraki, TELIT, UBLOX, Multitech and BrioWireless
- Ability to quickly identify the customer’s strategy and main technical and business problems
- Proven ability to develop competitive value-added solutions that are creative and innovative
Professional certification and experience
- Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
- Business administration degree (MBA, PhD for instance), an asset
- Sales or account planning training, a significant asset
- At least five years of experience in the IT field with a minimum of two years in a pre-sales engineering role
- Sales consultant experience, an asset
