We are a small, highly diverse team providing the ultimate in leading-edge fiber and hybrid fiber coax connectivity throughout our rural systems on the beautiful Shuswap and North Thompson regions. Our technicians really do get to do everything. From Microwave Wireless to Fiber to Docsis 3.1, our installations involve hands-on with the latest and greatest tech all aimed directly at putting our customers first.

Here's how

 
You will collaborate with our small team of technicians and leaders on a daily basis to carry out five integral roles:

 

  • Lead the pre-fielding of subscriber properties
  • Drive the high quality installation of Internet/TV/VOIP services over fiber/coaxial
  • Analyze and repair existing Internet/TV/VOIP service challenges
  • Discover new Internet/TV/VOIP service issues and create solutions before problems can become customer impacting
  • Support the retrieval of customer equipment and the termination of services when required
  • Finally and most importantly, you will engage in meaningful conversations with our customers, developing real relationships in which the trust you build can be leveraged to provide solutions for the connected homes of today

Qualifications

You're the missing piece of the puzzle!

 

  • Unparalleled interpersonal communication skills - can provide technology education for customers with varied comprehension levels and can upsell our products and services to meet customer needs
  • Must have technical proficiency and familiarity with consumer electronics: computers, network devices, home theatre
  • Knowledge of network technology, architecture and elements, and their inter-workings
  • Ability to manage physically demanding work (in all weather) and working aloft, in accordance with Worksafe policies
  • Demonstrated effective decision-making skills while under limited supervision
  • Must maintain a high level of performance under pressure of time constraints
  • Ability to handle favourable/unfavourable customer interactions in fluent English with excellent communication skills
  • Must have a valid Class 5 driver's license (driver's abstract will be required) and be OK to travel in company provided vehicle as some overnight trips will be required
  • Must have a minimum Grade 12 education (with preference for two-year college diploma in technology/electronics)

 

Great-to-haves

 

  • Experience in any of the following areas would be an asset:
  • Installation and repair of coaxial cable and related equipment (STB's/Modems/EMTA’s)
  • Installation of phone and/or alarm systems and wiring
  • Fiber splicing (mechanical or fusion)
  • Installation and repair of Microwave Wireless radio systems
  • Familiarity with inside and outside plant facilities (including basic Head end functions)
