We are the TELUS Employer Solutions (TES) Technology Team within the Chief Information Office at TELUS and are responsible to deliver hosted HRMS applications managed services and development for our customers.

 

Our goal is to provide modern, reliable and flexible development and support services to the TELUS Employer Solutions Business team. Through DevOps transformation and close business collaboration, we strive to improve both the quality and efficiency with which these capabilities are provided to our TELUS Employer Solutions customers.

 

 

What you’ll do

 

We are looking for an energetic, collaborative, and adaptive leader to modernize TELUS Employer Solutions systems and lead our DevOps transformation to enable best in class customer interactions and experiences. As Manager – Information Services, reporting to the Director – Information Services, you will lead a team of dynamic, innovative, and committed technology professionals to realize these outcomes. Further, you will collaborate with our leadership team and key business organizational stakeholders to ratify and deliver on our TELUS Employer Solutions strategy.

 


 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead, coach and support a team of technology experts to achieve their full potential, and exceed our service and delivery requirements.
  • Provide Human Resources Management System (HRMS) techno-functional thought leadership, and collaborate with TES business stakeholders to understand and reconcile their strategies with the TES roadmap
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers, management, staff and stakeholders to ensure a strong business partnership with regular and open communication through regular management steering committee, change board meeting and regular project status updates.
  • Ensure team members adhere to best practice standards for Incident Management, Problem Management, and Change Management.
  • Assists in budgeting process and identifies significant financial opportunities and impacts
  • Guide the business with respect to technology enablement of their key priorities, and support planning, estimating, scheduling and delivery of work to ensure their needs are met.
  • Realize critical CIO resiliency and reliability objectives in the delivery of Billing Experience systems, solutions and processes


 

 

Manage overall Development Work Program & project delivery, including:

 

  • Receive and track all work requests,
  • Deliver project estimates and allocate project resources,
  • Develop, manage and track work plans,
  • Balance workload with capacity by planning activities according to schedule and budgets,
  • Provide general project management services including project scope, budget, quality, risk and issue management,
  • Responsible for high quality delivery of Application enhancements
  • Responsible to maintain SLA standard for high level system availability.
  • Track and report actual resource utilization against budgeted service contract plans.

 

 

Qualifications


What you bring

 

Knowledge and experience:

 

  • Track record of building and leading high performing development teams
  • Working knowledge of Dev/Ops processes and agile methodologies
  • Advanced knowledge of HR, Payroll, Time and Attendance, and Talent Management business processes and supporting systems
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HRMS (i.e. PeopleSoft, Oracle Cloud HCM, and Oracle Fusion Cloud)

 

Skills & Abilities:

 

  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, coaching and collaboration skills
  • Ability to build strong business partner relationships, effectively communicate complex information and garner the support of peers, executives and external partners for your ideas
  • Ability to proactively find, plan and implement improvement opportunities
  • Ability to manage multiple squads, multiple projects, priorities and clients
  • 8+ years of experience in a technology discipline, including exposure to project management and software development roles.
  • 3+ years of experience with Agile, DevOps and/or Cloud based technologies
  • Advanced operational excellence and quality service
  • Advanced customer service orientation. The ability to effectively liaise with peers and management.  

 

Required Professional Designation/Certification:

 

  • Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology degree or equivalent
  • MBA is an asset
