As the Manager of the Cyber Security SecOPS enablement team, within the Cyber Security DevOps & Reliability organization, you will guide a technical team responsible for the design, development, operations, project delivery, and assurance of cyber security and operations tools that are critical to TELUS security teams. As a visionary leader, this is your opportunity to drive the strategic transformation to the Cloud, NextGen operations, and automation in a DevOps environment.

 

What you’ll do

 

  • As an Effective Leader, you will:
    • Drive a high engagement high performance culture
    • Provide strong support to the team members to achieve the team goals
    • Inspire and empower a national team of security and technology professionals with your vision, strategy and program execution management
  • As an Expert, you will:
    • Leverage your experience and expertise to manage the strategic cyber security and operations tools, platforms, applications to enable the TELUS security teams in their day to day work 
    • Collaborate with overall security teams to develop and deploy new cyber security and operations tools, practical automation solution, custom modules and the on-going life cycle management 
    • Focus on continuous delivery and improvement through automation and orchestration of security and next generation operations tools
    • Support established KPIs to ensure performance is measured against expected business outcomes.
  • As a Strategist, you will:
    • Define and implement tooling and automation roadmap and standards for DevOPS and reliability team 
    • Be a trusted automation and tooling advisor by providing objective, practical and relevant insights and advice.
    • Proactively plan for delivery, operations and assurance needs, including Cloud, NextGen tools and automation such as dynamic asset management, configuration and patch automation, fault and performance monitoring, trouble-ticketing, and synthetic monitoring
  • As a Project & Resource Manager, you will:
    • Provide project coordination and management support including prioritizing resourcing needs for competing projects based on business priorities
    • Plan and manage capital and operating expenses budget for the team

Great-to-haves

 

  • Knowledge of cyber security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection and protection system, email security, web Security, DDoS prevention, wireless security, identity and access management (IAM) systems, 2FA, certificate and key management, HSM, monitoring tools, cloud security 
  • Advanced skills in of PowerShell script design and implementation, including hands-on experience
  • Advanced skills in automation/configuration management tools such as Ansible or Chef, Puppet
  • Advanced skills & experience with designing & managing APIs, including service integration and orchestration.
  • Experience Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies & network functions virtualization (NFV)
  • Professional security certifications: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), SANS
  • Post-secondary degree in Engineering, or Computer Science, or related disciplines
