You will be responsible for leading the direction and prioritizing tactical plans for the Warehouse and Distribution plan for TELUS Nationally. You will lead a high performing team to develop and deliver the processes and execution of implementation of programs, manage 3PL (Third Party Logistics) and lead a team of highly skilled Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). This leader will collaborate and build strategic relationships with multiple stakeholder groups ensuring commitment & process alignment.
What you’ll do
- Provide leadership, support and direction to management team to achieve alignment in strategy, processes and culture.
- Strategic partner relationship management, negotiations and contracts management internally and externally
- Lead the development & implementation of new or revised warehousing policies, guidelines, processes & procedures to ensure organizational requirements, Audit & compliance.
- Develop, recommend, implement continuous improvement opportunities to reduce cost and improve effectiveness of capital and operating expenditures.
- Develop metrics to ensure business requirements are met and communicated internal & external partners. Focusing on financials, contracts management as well as feedback and L2R metrics for Distribution / warehouse operations
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve existing & determine future strategic & operational models.
- Improve efficiencies of warehouse operations and inventory controls using industry best practices
What you bring
- 7-10 years of experience in warehouse & distribution, logistics or contract development (3PL experience ideal)
- 5-10 years’ experience in leading/directing teams and participating on cross functional groups.
- University Degree preferable
- Extensive experience in successfully leading diverse teams
- Ability to work successfully in a fast paced, rapidly changing & high volume business.
- Ability to influence & support internal business partners across varied business units
- Highly developed problem solving and organization skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize activities & meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of inventory management control & warehouse systems and processes
- Proven negotiation and risk management with the ability to prioritize tasks in a rapidly changing environment to meet business requirements
Great-to-have
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, with in-depth knowledge of Excel
- Working knowledge of SAP/BW
