The Network Function Virtualization (NFV) Cloud Infrastructure DevOps team at TELUS is looking for YOU - a dedicated team member who draws from your product & technical expertise to make a meaningful impact!

Our team is at the forefront of cloud technologies, providing foundational technologies and support across all TELUS services through software defined infrastructure and NFV. We design, build, and operate cloud environments for our internal services. You will work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, keeping you at the edge of this emerging technology.

You will be the owner of an automation platform (Service Orchestration) that will support our internal service owners in bringing services to market faster. You will be responsible for both development as well as operations. At the core of your strengths is your ability to see the big picture - you understand that your contributions are integral to keeping TELUS ahead of the technological curve, while enabling our customers to grow and prosper.

Here’s how

 

  • Have end-to-end accountability of the Service Orchestration product
  • Define/develop evolution of the Service Orchestration product to meet customer needs based on product vision
  • Define/develop service strategy, roadmap, and a runway for the service team
  • Lead requirements gathering effort; work with stakeholders to gather user stories
  • Document story details/tasks alongside the with development team
  • Lead backlog grooming to decompose, make prioritization decisions, and provide formal business value estimates for user stories
  • Define acceptance criteria for user stores
  • Lead demonstration of latest iteration/release to customers and gather feedback
  • Create financial forecast and track service performance
  • Devise and implement customer acquisition, customer relationship management, and delivery execution strategy 

 

 

Qualifications

 

You're the missing piece of the puzzle

 

  • Minimum 5 years of service/product ownership experience
  • Experience in solving technical and process challenges with repeatable, automated solutions
  • Experience with CI/CD and automation modelling
  • Telecommunications industry experience; experience with deploying network functions to a public or private cloud
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
  • Strong stakeholder management and presentation skills

 
Great-to-haves

 

  • Agile certifications (Certified Scrum Product Owner/Certified Scrum Master)
  • Openstack, OpenShift, Kubernetes, Juniper or Cisco certification
  • Public cloud certification (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Networking experience 
  • Project or Program management experience
  • Software development experience (Python, Terraform, TOSCA, YAML, etc)
