You are a people person and master negotiator. Not only are you able to navigate the complexities, but you thrive in the negotiations and acquisition of land leases, municipal approvals and permitting of telecommunication facilities. Furthermore, your collaborative nature serves you well as you assist in the formulation of municipal land use authority and provincial policies related to the approval process and federal requirements.
Here’s how
- Program manages the Eastern Canada portfolio by ensuring targets are met
- Oversee and understand the local market requirements for real estate acquisition, commercial lease management, administration, and operations, ensure that work is done in a matter that meets timelines and objectives
- Review and administer different forms of tenure, included but not limited to:, statutory right of ways, easement, permits, licenses, leases and ancillary types of documents
- Evaluate procedures and recommend improvements on the delivery of projects
- Ensure quality control of data entry and tracking of candidates, leases and all third party consents, necessary to hand over to the Implementation teams
Qualifications
What you bring
- Bilingual in both French and English with a strong ability to communicate in both languages
- Respected for your understanding of commercial leasing, real estate, land-use authority, and federal government requirements necessary for the ongoing operation and expansion of a telecommunication network, property management and lease administration
- Valued as an exceptional communicator with a knack for effectively interacting with both internal and external stakeholders including landlord or government authorities
- Acknowledged for your ability to read and interpret legal documents including (lease, license right of way agreements and others); Also an ability to understand construction drawings including (surveys & engineering designs)
- Praised for your work ethic to drive projects and tasks to finish on time, overcoming obstacles along the way; expertise to solve problems, drawing on your past experience and leveraging existing resources
- Regarded for your attention to details and excellent organizational skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and 5+ years of experience in the site acquisition management experience in the communications industry
- Communicate with a variety of landowners such as federal, provincial & municipal authorities, first nations, railways, utility companies, commercial & industrial business owners, Condominium corporations, and residential owners regarding land access, rights of way in land and leases
- Working knowledge of local provincial & federal acts
Great-to-haves
- Ability to interpret lease/license agreement; read & understand legal clauses
- Working knowledge of right of way acquisition
- Experience with right of way valuation and interest
- Public consultation and conflict resolution capabilities
- Strong acumen for reporting
- Knowledge of SAP
- Exceptional knowledge of Microsoft (MS) Office including PowerPoint & Excel
Location: Any major Canadian city
Advanced knowledge of English is required because you will most of the time interact in English with internal parties (colleagues, internal partners, stakeholders, etc.); and work with IT tools whose interface is only accessible in English as part of this position's main responsibilities given its national scope.
