Our newly formed 5G Business Development team is expanding. We are seeking passionate, self-driven professionals to execute on our 5G business development strategy and establish new capabilities. These unique positions will drive innovative, next-generation solutions from conception to launch, resulting in an integrated ecosystem of capabilities that have a meaningful impact with our Public Sector in Canada. Specifically, you will be accountable for driving new solution introductions to execute the roadmap within this thriving sector. These initiatives will pull together resources from various internal teams as well as involve collaborating with external business partners. These dynamic roles will allow you to develop and showcase critical technology and business skills as you strive towards driving strong interlock, a unified purpose and strong sense of urgency in an effort to ensure stakeholders deliver the outcomes we need for our business and our customers. You will manage multiple competing priorities, resolve conflicts and clarify ambiguities, and report on progress in a clear and compelling way.

 

What you’ll do

 

  • Perform as a cross-functioning subject matter expert (SME) across all our 5G business development areas of focus such as private wireless networks, mobile edge computing (MEC), virtual enhanced packet core (vEPC), and supporting use case services within
  • Work with internal teams and business partners to take new solutions from concept to proof of concepts to full market launch
  • Travel to, and present solutions, ideate concepts and solutions to potential and existing customers in the region. Some travel outside the region may be required
  • Communicate challenging technical discussions and broader business and strategic analysis to key TELUS stakeholders and executives
  • Communicate and interop with other key technical architects responsible for TELUS products and solutions
  • Manage all aspects of the design and implementation, including operational processes, documentation and content for handover to downstream teams for development Proof of Concepts

 

 

Qualifications

 

What you bring

 

  • Experience working on platform products, particularly working with public safety agencies such as Police, Fire, and EMS
  • Strong understanding of 5G core principals including private wireless networks
  • Ability to take extremely technical concepts and efficiently present to non-technical audiences including C-Suite and Executives
  • Experience with VMWare, Windows, and Unix operating systems
  • Experience creating, executing and supporting end-to-end projects
  • Excellent knowledge of wireless/wireline/telecommunications systems and platforms from concept to implementation
  • Strategic thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Curiosity, adaptability, innovation, and out-of-the-box thinking
  • 5+ years of experience working in telecommunication or related fields
  • Experience coordinating and working across cross-functional teams
  • Ability to effectively communicate, present, sell ideas and influence (build your vision and gain buy-in across the organization)
  • Have or able to obtain required security clearances
  • Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, and/or equivalent real-world experience

 

Great-to-haves

 

  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services or other cloud providers
  • Familiarity with Containers, Docker, Openshift or Kubernetes
  • Experience with Python, C#, Javascript or other programming languages
  • IP networking experience and/or certifications
  • Technical support experience #LI-hybrid
