As a Senior DevOps engineer of our Network automation team, you will be at the helm of supporting an automation platform using Agile development processes. This team is a part of our Networking Technology and Services team, which is responsible for the end-to-end technology development and operations of automation platform TINAA (TELUS Intelligent Network Automation and Analytics) . You will help define the architecture and implementation for our Network Automation Platform, integrating developed software components from leading vendors into a complex hybrid on prem and cloud pattern, in order to deliver the best network automation.

What you'll do

 

  • Support an automation platform based on microservices deployed on OCP and GKE clusters and using MongoDB, Postgress DB and Elastic Search
  • design the solutions with HA (high availability) and Geo-redundancy keeping Reliability of the platform in mind
  • Work cross-functionally to define SLIs, SLOs, SLAs and setup the proper monitoring and alerting to minimize downtime
  • Operational processes and procedures are part of your DNA
  • Work with cloud-native or on-prem technologies, combining the modern technologies, practices, and products into a cohesive platform to enable world-leading software development.
  • Provide an indication of the effort needed to implement the necessary solutions based on your proactive operational observations. 
  • Manage escalation processes
     

What you bring

 

  • 5+ experience as DevOps and software engineering experience
  • Experience working in environments ensuring the reliable operation of deployments from end-to-end (front-end to database as well as data ingestion pipelines)
  • Experience with monitoring tools and understand best practices for alerting
  • A strong understanding and previous experience with infrastructure on prem, cloud infrastructure such as GCP or other clouds etc
  • Understanding of SSH, VPN, TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP(S), network routing and subnets
  • Experience with Configuration Management and Infrastructure as Code - Terraform, Ansible
  • Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, Dynatrace or similar tools used to monitor and troubleshoort
  • Good operational knowledge on Kubernetes, Postgress, Elastic Search and MongoDB
  • Expertise with Kafka, Spark, PubSub, Keycloak, Apigee and common technologies used in software development
  • Working knowledge of Ansible and CICD (examples: Jenkins, ArgoCD or Harness)
  • High degree of curiosity and ownership

Salary Range:  $99,000-$149,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan:  15%
