Description

Join our team and what we'll accomplish together

Join the TELUS Data Center of Excellence — the team at the heart of our enterprise data strategy. We are a high-impact group responsible for engineering data pipelines, transforming raw data into enterprise-grade datasets, and building performance metrics that guide decisions across a workforce of over 15,000 employees. We bridge data engineering, business intelligence, and performance analytics — creating scalable data products that power TELUS’ customer experience, operations, and growth.

We’re looking for a strategic leader who understands how to turn data into a competitive advantage. Someone who can envision the future, build the roadmap, sell the vision to executives, and lead cross-functional teams to bring it to life. If you’ve led transformative BI or data platform initiatives in a large enterprise, have experience shaping long-term data product strategies, and are energized by delivering business value through data — this is your next opportunity.

What You’ll Do

  • Define and Lead the Vision: Craft and champion a 2–5 year roadmap for unified, scalable data products (e.g., customer profiles, billing, interactions, and adoption data) that support enterprise analytics and performance management.
  • Secure Executive Buy-In: Build compelling business cases, win C-suite and SVP-level support, and secure funding for data transformation initiatives. Build executive-level presentations, communicate program impact, and act as the voice of the data strategy at the highest levels
  • Deliver at Scale: Lead the delivery of enterprise-grade data products and BI solutions, leveraging GCP, BigQuery, Snowflake, and tools like Looker and Tableau.  Align data engineers, analysts, and business partners around a shared vision and execution strategy.
  • Enable Governance & Compliance: Ensure adherence to data governance, privacy, and compliance standards including SOX.
  • Support Agile Delivery: Guide teams through modern software and data development lifecycles using agile methods, CI/CD, and change/release management best practices.
  • Measure Impact: Define success metrics and track performance against business outcomes.
  • Foster Team Growth: Support and elevate fellow program leaders through knowledge-sharing and collaboration.

  • Strong understanding of data’s role in driving business performance and organizational transformation
  • Executive presence and the ability to communicate clearly C-suite leaders
  • Track record of managing multimillion-dollar initiatives, budgets, and cross-functional delivery teams
  • Deep understanding of how to turn data products into repeatable, high-value assets

  • Ability to mentor and inspire technical and non-technical stakeholders alike
  • Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices and how they apply to data platforms to ensure data pipelines and products are reliable, scalable, and monitored.
