As the Senior Strategy Manager, Communications, you will amplify the industry-leading work by TELUS’ Enterprise Data Engineering (EDE) Team team through effective communications and outreach activities, with a keen focus on fostering Data Engineering, AI and GenAI awareness, skills and adoption across the organization. Reporting to the Director, Enterprise Data Engineering, you will work closely with the Enterprise Data Engineering Team and the Data Strategy and Enablement Department to build and implement a TELUS-wide communications strategy designed to support and advance our leadership in this area. You will partner with the Corporate Citizenship & Communications (CC&C), People & Culture (P&C), Digital and Business teams to deliver on TELUS-wide communications and learning priorities to ensure that all team members have the support and resources available to incorporate AI, Gen AI & Data Analytics into their daily work.

 

You will bring your enthusiasm and skills to support the EDE team’s overall mandate through expert counsel and communications support as well as participation in the strategic planning process, including KPI development and monitoring.

 

Here’s how: 

  • You will implement and lead the execution of a proactive, integrated communications strategy, collaborating across the organization to execute programming to reach internal and external audiences delivering measurable, meaningful results.
  • Collaborate closely with leaders, partners and peers to develop, articulate and align on the strategic and execution roadmap. 
  • Develop content that breaks complex concepts down into meaningful information for stakeholders with the support of subject matter experts and partners across the organization (e.g. messaging repository, videos, branding alignment, slide decks, roadmaps etc.).
  • Support DSE leaders in achieving their goals by providing expert communications counsel. Programs of focus include:
    • Artificial Intelligence / Generative AI
    • Data analytics platforms
    • Data engineering
    • Data management & data quality
  • Provide counsel, creativity and materials to support the DSE team’s strategic vision internally and externally including presentations, Habitat articles, social media content, videos and speaking engagements.
  • Acting as EDE point of contact for the CC&C comms team, streamlining the engagement of subject matter experts within the DSE team and supporting the CC&C prime’s work in distributing bulletins; pitching, drafting and placing Habitat stories; and providing updates on results.

  • Known for your ability to collaborate and lead teams effectively, with excellent interpersonal skills to build and foster relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Are agile and able to deal with ambiguity and with complex concepts.
  • Skilled at providing communications counsel and presenting information to all levels of an organization.

 

Great-to-haves:

  • A university degree and 8+ years of experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an asset
  • Familiarity with communications-related processes and teams at TELUS is a great advantage.
  • Experience with executive leaders is considered an asset.

 

Salary Range:  $94,000-$142,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan:  15%

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience. In addition, TELUS offers rewarding benefits such as:
