Major events are impacting supply chains like never before. Wildfires, floods, tornados, Covid-19, and many other events are impacting raw material availability and finished product delivery. You are an experienced and successful Supply Chain expert who has the ability to develop and implement strategies that will proactively assess and mitigate risks to improve TELUS’ supply chain resiliency.
 
Based on your track record of success, you are able to deploy robust data-driven processes that provide early warnings of potential supply chain risks and you can apply appropriate mitigation strategies based on best practices and proven experience. You make a difference to the quality of service TELUS delivers to our customers.  

 

What you’ll do

 

  • Develop, own and champion a framework of supplier risk management best practices and risk mitigation playbooks
  • Create and maintain a database of multi-layer supply chain mapping attributes including raw material sourcing, manufacturing & sub-assembly locations, and transportation routes
  • Support Supply Operations and stakeholder teams to evaluate new risks, then develop, implement and manage risk mitigation action plans
  • Establish and maintain senior relationships with key suppliers and lead outcome-focused risk mitigation joint meetings, for example between OEM, Chip set manufacturers and TELUS
  • Support Supply Operations teams in discussion with Product, Marketing and Technology teams where technology decisions impact supply, and vice versa, and influence outcomes/decisions with risk management principles
  • Effectively communicate risks, impacts, and mitigation plans to stakeholders and senior management
  • Collaborate with the Supply Operations leadership team and other Supply Chain Risk Management experts
  • Support the selection, onboarding and implementation of a third party risk management system

 

 

What you bring

 

  • 7+ years progressive experience in Supply Chain Management preferably within the telecommunications or technology sector
  • 3+ years’ experience in Supplier Relationship Management and/or Supply Chain Risk Management
  • High performer with a demonstrated ability to work independently and deliver effective outcomes
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present information at all levels of the organization and influence others to support new ideas
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to foster good cross-functional working relationships with peers, stakeholders and suppliers
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and complex issues, and to react quickly and take advantage of changing business conditions
  • Familiarity with enterprise systems like SAP or Blue Yonder, and Supply Chain Risk management systems like Resilinc, Riskmethods or Galvanize 
  • University degree in a related discipline   

 

Great-to-have

 

  • Supply Chain certification such as APICS, CSCP or CPSM
  • MBA, Risk Management or Project Management certification
  • Business Automation experience e.g. RPA
  • Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent designation
  • An understanding of TELUS products & services and Telecom infrastructure
  • French (would be an asset)
