Description

Lead projects that connect people, technology, and impact

Our team and what we’ll accomplish together

We are looking for a project management professional who thrives in a fast-paced, complex environment and focuses on delivering exceptional results for clients. Joining our TELUS Security Alarm Monitoring (Smart Security and Automation) team means becoming part of a group that thrives on purpose, collaboration, and impact.

Our Operations unit protects lives and property across Canada, 24/7, delivering operational excellence across all lines of business. You’ll be part of an operations center that oversees enablement, training, change management, reliability, and transformation, while leading large-scale operational improvements, system migrations, and transformative tool deployments to reinforce our security mandate.

You’ll work alongside passionate experts who combine operational depth with forward-thinking creativity. We bring together the stability of a national operation with the agility of a problem-solving hub, where ideas are valued and learning is constant.

The ideal candidate is a trusted project leader with hands-on experience managing operational improvements and transformation programs. You excel at connecting business and technical stakeholders, translating complex requirements into actionable plans, and applying proven change management expertise to ensure end-user success. With a calm, collaborative leadership style, you anticipate risks, defuse resistance, and keep teams focused on delivering results.

What you’ll do

  • Lead end-to-end project execution and delivery of a portfolio, ensuring successful outcomes while keeping stakeholders consistently informed.
  • Partner with diverse teams across our TELUS team to gather requirements and ensure no detail is overlooked.
  • Translate concepts into compelling narratives and visual presentations for diverse audiences, incorporating storytelling to enhance understanding and engagement.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement, governance frameworks, and decision-making, balancing competing priorities, making trade-offs, and guiding stakeholders under constraints.
  • Proactively manage risks and dependencies, identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential issues to maintain project momentum.
  • Coordinate resources and inter-team handoffs, ensuring seamless collaboration across multiple teams and functions.
  • Build, maintain, and track project artifacts and performance metrics, including workback schedules, risk & issue logs, action logs, and KPIs, enabling progress tracking, data-driven adjustments, and clear reporting.
  • Conduct post-implementation evaluation and lessons learned, capturing insights to improve future projects and processes.
  • Handle stakeholder escalations and conflict resolution, facilitating consensus and maintaining alignment on project goals.
  • Apply change management expertise to prepare end-users for new technology, working closely with training and change management teams.
  • Develop comprehensive project and product launch strategies that drive adoption and reinforce operational success.
  • Leverage strong communication and negotiation skills to secure alignment and buy-in on project strategy and execution.

Advanced knowledge of English is required because you will most of the time interact in English with internal parties (colleagues, internal partners, stakeholders, etc.); and work with IT tools whose interface is only accessible in English as part of this position's main responsibilities given its national scope.

Qualifications

What you bring

  • Project management certification CAPM or Project+; preferred: PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience supporting or managing projects, coordinating cross-functional teams, or delivering operational initiatives.
  • Embodies values of trust, teamwork, integrity, and accountability, bringing authenticity and positive influence to the workplace.
  • Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and consensus-building skills.
  • Skilled in risk management, trade-offs, and prioritization to deliver successful project outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate resources, manage dependencies, and drive operational improvements, leveraging tools such as MS Project, Monday.com, Jira, Tableau, or equivalent.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, able to establish cross-functional alignment and influence outcomes.
  • Skilled at asking targeted, insightful questions to guide stakeholders in analyzing their own needs, fostering a collaborative, coach-like approach to decision-making.
  • Analytical skills, with the ability to conduct root cause and fit-gap analysis and make data-driven decisions.
  • Experience in change management and facilitating end-user adoption
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including preparing creative and engaging presentations.
