Within the Business Network & Systems organization, the Over The Top (OTT) product team tirelessly works across the TELUS Business Solutions organization to drive profitable growth across a critical set of products that small and medium-sized businesses need to fuel their business success such as unified communications (Business Connect), entertainment (Business TV), ubiquitous connectivity (Business Wi-Fi) security (TELUS Secure Business), internet and voice. We are looking for a highly motivated and results-driven individual to join the OTT team as a Senior Product Manager for the Business Connect product.This is an exciting role where you will strategize, orchestrate, and execute on initiatives to improve Business Connect product profitability and value chain experience. We are looking for someone who: excels in challenging the status quo, is motivated to lead people indirectly to accomplish common goals, naturally adjusts their style of communication (written, verbal, presenting) for all layers of the organization, uses influence and partnership to drive outcomes efficiently, enjoys relationship building with stakeholders, has a bias for action, believes that leading through change and ambiguity is motivating and has a firm sense of accountability and growth mindset.

This position will report to the Manager of the over the top (OTT), SMB Voice product team. The Senior Product Manager is a strategic-minded individual that sees the big picture in their work but also can define ways to execute effectively and efficiently. The Senior Product Manager is not afraid to challenge the status quo and design, create, and implement a vision for short and long-term success. Working with others, the Senior Product Manager in the SMB Voice product team will make the following impact and accomplishments.

 

  • You will design and develop a product portfolio strategy to focus on product profitability and value chain improvements from a customer and team member journey
  • You will help craft and share our story to help secure the necessary investments, support, and assistance needed to bring our vision of easy to buy, sell, deliver and support to life
  • You will orchestrate and collaborate with other Product Managers to execute on initiatives to deliver profitability and value chain improvements
  • You will lead the transformation of the Business Connect customer implementation strategy to be more cost effective and efficient
  • You will help uncover important performance and financial insights on Business Connect that influence product managers on strategies and tactical actions to improve product performance monthly
  • You will interlock with cross functional teams across TELUS to deliver upon our own and other teams priorities
  • You will piece together how our team’s initiatives can help broader strategic programs including Copper turndown and product deselection activities

Here's how

 

As a Senior Product Manager, you will leverage a variety of skills, competencies and tools to:

 

  • Architect and implement a structured approach to measure and monitor key product performance indicators through scorecards and monthly performance processes
  • Develop financial models that enable the ability to understand and track the profitability of the product throughout the entire value chain and lifecycle
  • Strategize with product managers to identify strategic and tactical plans to improve business outcomes for the product through the lens of easy to buy, easy to sell, easy to deliver, and easy to support
  • Orchestrate product governance including monthly/quarterly forums with key stakeholder groups including Marketing, Operations, Finance, Sales, and Vendor
  • Communicate and influence effectively at all layers of the organization in support of driving quality decisions
  • Conduct strategic analysis on the Product to problem solve for the short and long term
  • Prepare and deliver powerful presentations for all layers of the organization including executives
  • Represent the team on cross-functional strategic programs requiring product influence and input
  • Managing and executing product strategies by supporting projects that involve analysis and operational process development
  • Grow the product portfolio by launching new products and expanding distribution channels

Great to haves:

 

  • Bilingual (French speaking) is an asset
  • MBA or equivalent experience
  • Passionate about community involvement, diversity and inclusion
  • Knowledge of wireline products and services such as internet, VoIP and local access

 

Advanced knowledge of English is required, because you will, most of the time, interact in English with external parties (clients, suppliers, candidates, external partners, etc.), interact in English with internal parties (colleagues, internal partners, stakeholders, etc.), as part of this position's main responsibilities, given its national scope.

Salary Range:  $96,000-$144,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan:  15%

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience. In addition, TELUS offers rewarding benefits, which may vary per job function, such as:
