As an Account Director, you will be the face of TELUS to small and medium-sized businesses, representing our brand and driving an exceptional client experience. You’ll build meaningful partnerships, acquire new customers, and provide tailored technology solutions. What You’ll Do
- Grow TELUS’ SMB customer base by selling our full suite of products and solutions to qualified leads and through proactive outbound campaigns
- Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities aligned with customer needs and TELUS sales objectives
- Lead the full sales cycle — from prospecting and solution development to negotiation and deal closure
- Build and manage a robust pipeline while developing a long-term client success strategy
- Recognize when accounts should be transitioned to our mid-market team as clients expand
- Conduct in-depth research and leverage your network to uncover new business opportunities
- Strengthen TELUS’ visibility within the SMB ecosystem through LinkedIn, networking events, and community engagement
- Provide client feedback to enhance marketing programs and sales campaigns
- Deliver an outstanding customer experience and establish strong relationships with key decision-makers
- Present innovative, value-driven technology solutions to executives with confidence and insight
- Stay informed about competitor offerings and market trends, confidently addressing objections
- Achieve monthly activation and revenue targets with precision and consistency
What You Bring
- Postsecondary education in Sales or Business, or equivalent professional experience (minimum 3 years in an Account Director or similar B2B sales role)
- Proven success meeting or exceeding sales goals and managing SMB portfolios
- Experience demonstrating and configuring technology products (telecom experience is a strong asset)
- Strong understanding of the sales funnel, with a disciplined and data-driven approach to achieving results
- Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with experience engaging C-level executives
- Tech-savvy with a solid business acumen and passion for digital innovation
- Strong online presence and comfort using LinkedIn and other digital tools for business development
- Experience conducting effective virtual sales meetings and presentations
- Skilled negotiator and creative problem-solver, confident in handling objections
- Commitment to providing an outstanding customer experience and maintaining long-term relationships
- Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce experience is a plus)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Google Workspace tools
